I am in Group D, kit 95954, from O'Cathain of Cenel Sedna, east Co Galway,
bearing names Cain, Kane & Keane. Celtic DNA with P312 and L21.
You are in Group E, from Haplogroup E, including O'Keane of Connemara & Co
Mayo. Our two groups are the closest to each other from what I can tell.
The Patrick Cain in Philadelphia sometimes spelled it Kean as well.

Re: your post on Cain Message Board of 11 Jan 2009
I am working on Keane/Kane/Cain family history and have also taken DNA test
that links me to northern County Galway in addition to several other areas
in Ireland. The three other Galway links are a "Cain" from England and two
other "Keane's."
We are listed at Cain-Caine FTDNA Project at
http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Cain-Caine/ .
Click on "Y DNA Results" box and scroll down to "E1b1b1 haplogroup." I
am
test kit number 32044 listed as looking for a "Mathew W. Keane"
great-grandfather.
Please advise if we have any DNA connections or advise if you can rule out
any connection. My Keane & Prendergast ancestors emmigrated from Ireland in
1848 and stayed briefly in New York State before settling in Wisconsin.
Besides Mathew, there is his brother and sister in the family stories.
Thank you.
---Robert O'Keane
