Does anyone on this list know who William Robert Cain maried, if he did
marry? I have a Rachael D. Mobley that was married to a William Cain and
living in Butler Co., AL. Butler was adjacent to Covington at that time. I
live in Crenshaw Co., AL, which in 1867 was constructed from parts of
Butler, Covington and all neighboring counties.

Subject: Wm. Robert Cain - CSA
Today I located the grave of William Robert Cain who served with the
29th
Alabama in Company I (from Covington Co., AL) in the Oakland Cemetery in
downtown Atlanta, GA. There is a large confederate section. Most of the
graves are marked with whatever information was available at the time of
death. There are also some "unknowns". Anyone looking for this cemetery,
it
is at the corner of Martin Luther King and Oakland streets. MLK
actually
deadends right into the cemetery. It is just a few blocks from the GA
State
Archives and the state capital building. Exit 93 or 94 off I-75.
There is an office staffed until 5:00 p.m. There is a list (alpha) so if
you
are ever in Atlanta check it out to see if any of your folks might be
there.
