I would like to see if anyone recognizes the name Herbert James KANE.
This was my paternal grandfather. He was born in Sturgis, Michigan in
May of 1883. He was an orphan so we have no idea of his parents names
other than we believe his mother's maiden name was Parker, probably from
New York. He was raised by a maternal aunt in Iowa. He married Cora
Farmer in 1905 and they lived all over Iowa. He was a salesman, he
worked for the Boone Gas Works in Boone, Iowa, and the last place I can
track him is in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as the manager of Iowa Kleen-Heet
Co. He disappeared from Cedar Rapids around 1925 or 1926. Cora moved
the family to Oklahoma in 1926 and divorced him in 1927. On the 1900
Iowa Census, in Clinton County, Delmar, Iowa, he was listed as the
nephew and living in the home of E.B. Parker (age 71 at that time, born
Nov 1828 in NY. Father born in NY, mother born in Rhode Island). Also
living in the home was E.B.'s sister, Mrs. Emma Bratt, a widow (age 76
at that time, born in NY, father born in NY, mother born in Rhode
Island).
If anyone has any information on Herbert James KANE, I would appreciate
hearing from you. Thank you Ginger Rhodes Gingerr(a)azalea.net
