I am seeking information on the family of my wife's g-g-g-grandmother,
Cynthia Cain. Here's what I have on her already.
Cynthia Cain
Born: 1832
Married: Andrew H. McCorkle (08/18/1849)
Death: 01/09/1865 (Carroll Co., MS)
Father: Patrick Cain, Jr. (1785 - 1838)
Mother: Mary Hubbard (1798 - 1859)
Child: Mary Louise McCorkle
Any help on this line would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Shawn

Shawn,
Where have you looked? I was doing Cain research in the SC archives and I
recall seeing several items for Patrick Cain. I have not yet unpacked all my
stuff from my trip but I know that I copied some stuff with Patrick Cain.

Hello, Linda,
Which Patrick Cain are you researching, the one from Abbeville Dist. or the
one from Orangeburgh/Barnwell District?
I am a descendant of the Patrick Cain from Barnwell Dist. and would love to
exchange data on this family with you, especially if you have anything on
Patrick, Sr. before he arrived in Craven Co., SC in 1773 where he was a Deputy
Surveyor.
I have some pretty convincing circumstantial evidence about his early history
that could stand some support.
If you are researching the Abbeville Patrick Cain, could you please give me
what proven data there exists about Patrick's wife, Susan Crawford. My mother
went into the DAR in 1936 on Patrick Cain, Jr. (b. Isle of Man 1737) who was
killed by a Tory band in August 1781 in a skirmish on the banks of the South
Edisto River. She recorded, in 1934, that her Patrick Cain, Jr's mother was
named Susannah Crawford. There seems to be a duplication of names somewhere
and I would like to get to the bottom of this mystery.
I look forward to hearing from you.
