Has any one else out there got one of the letters below, some people might

is on the CAIN roots web line and this is how they got my e-mail, I THINK
THIS IS ABUSE TO THE LINE !!!!!!!!!!!!
I am on this line for genealogy, not to get this kind of junk, nor to send
junk to others.........----------

Spam is a constant problem on mailing lists. As a listowner I am
subscribed to a forum at Rootsweb for listowners and the constant topic
is Spam. While we all share your frustration with these kinds of
unsolicited messages, there is not much we can do except to NEVER,
NEVER, NEVER buy from or answer one. It does little good to reply to
the email address because it is usually bogus or it goes to a mailbox
that is simply junked. Cain-L is an open list which means that anyone
can send messages to the list whether subscribed or not. We could close
the list and fix some of this but I really don't want to do this unless
the situation gets a lot worse than it is now. They could still
subscribe long enough to send their message and then unsub before they
were caught. If the situation gets worse we will consider closing the
list but until then the best answer is still delete. I just hate to let
the creeps force me to do something I don't want to do. Any comments?
(As you might guess, the address of the spammer is not subscribed to the
list)
