Lisa, I am the gggranddaughter of Jonas Cain. He was born in Norcross, Gwinnett County, Ga
on 12/9/1824. He married Mary Garner (b 11/30/1824)in Gwinnett County on 4/24/1825. They
moved to Alphretta, GA ( which was Forsyth County, became Milton County and is now part of
Fulton County). Mary died in Tucker, where they had appartly moved with their oldest
daughter, Parthenia and her husband John Brooks. Jonas died in Atlanta where he was living
with another child.. He, Mary and several of their children (including John and Parthenia
and their son, William) are buried in the Plesant Hill Baptist Church Cem in Tucker. Their
oldest son, William died 3/15/1863 and is buried in the Garner family cem. in Gwinnett
County.
My Great Grandfather, James M Cain, married Lela Morton. They had 4 children, the youngest
was my Grandfather, Robert Oscar Cain, Sr. When Lela died at the age of 24, he then
married Mary J Tribble and they had 4 children. They lived in Griffin, where he pastored a
church, Chamblee and in Atlanta. He died 3/27/1924 in Atlanta. He, Mary and 4 of their
children are buried in the First Baptist Church of Chamblee (GA) Cem.
I have a complete list of all of Jonas' children and of all of James' children.
Will be glad to post any of the info I have.
