I hope you all don't mind a quick note from me. I just can't resist. I'm probably not related, my Cain's came from Delaware to South Jersey c: 1720 and are stll here. But looking into "The Britsh Partizan", it mentions McCormick County. My father, Earl Cain's mother was Kathryn McCormick. The McCormick's also are from South Jersey (only found back to 1827).
4G grandfather John Cain found in the Gloucster County (NJ) Militia under Col. Richard Somers.
Sorry to interrupt... Earl Cain - New Jersey

Thanks Candace, your a fine cousin to have! Keep me posted, I have just taken my genealogy hunt back up...I've had to find something to do since my Mom's passing. I have come across several new leads in my connecting lines. A Genealogist's job is never done. <3

I should add additional info about this book. It was written in 1838 by a great granddaughter of James CAINE of Abbeville. The focus of the book is about James, the Patriot, and his brother, William, the Loyalist, Ralph Cornet in the book. Our Louisiana CAIN line are the family of William. Our James Oscar CAIN line is out of the James line.

We believe that our James Oscar CAIN line is related to the CAINs described in "The British Partizan" by Mary Elizabeth Moragne. You can google it and download a copy for free online. We think that James Oscar CAIN's ancestor's brother is the person detailed in this book. One brother fought for the English and one brother fought for the US in the Revolutionary War.

This Daniel Cain was living in Guilford Co., NC with earliest records found
there in deeds in 1778 and then he migrated to Greene Co., OH and is the
Daniel Cain buried on the Allyn Farm, Spring Valley, Greene Co., OH. His
Revolutionary War Record was in Guilford Co., NC. There is no James Oscar
Cain found to date in his descendants. Thanks, Dianne Cain Black
