I am looking for family information for Ervin Cain who was born in abt May 1858 Missouri.
In the 1885 Kansas state census, 'I' Cain is living with Millard and Mary Kibbe, Odessa (Buffalo) Twp, Jewell County, Kansas. He was helping them on the farm.
In abt 1886, he married 'Jessie'. I believe her maiden name was Jessie Scott b. abt 1867 Illinois but living in Jewell Co, Kansas with her parents Alexander H. Scott and wife Adah.
I have finally traced them through the censuses...
1900 Ervin Cain living in McElroy, Pawnee Co, Oklahoma
household includes: 'Irvin'-42, Jessie-32, children Etha-4, Lukey-1
1910 Ervin Cain living in McElroy, Pawnee Co, Oklahoma household includes: 'Evin Gain'-51, Jessie-42, Etha-13, Luke-11, Arsa-9, Fred-7 and Marie-5
1920 Ervin Cain is deceased, widow Jessie Cain is living in Littleton, Arapahoe, Colorado household includes Jessie-52, Luke-21, Fred-17, Marie-14, and Hobart Warf-22 and Archie Warf-19 (believe this to be dau Arsa and husband)
1930 Jessie Cain is living in McPherson, McPherson Co, Kansas household includes Jessie Cain-62 and Luke S. Cain-31
I would like to find out when/where Ervin and Jessie Cain passed away and where they are buried...or any other information as to their children. I have a wonderful picture of them...their wedding picture that I would like to share.
Thanks, Kim Fairchild

There were at least two different Cain families in Bladen Co, both descended from the same Irish clan. If you have a male Cain relation willing to give a DNA sample, that would get you into the Cain DNA project at www.familytreedna.com/public/Cain-Cain where you could connect with some of these folks.

If you have located male Cains descended from each of these brothers, then this question could be resolved through a simple cheek swab & DNA test. See www.familytreedna.com/pub.ic/Cain-Caine

I am apparently a decendant of Peter Kane who was apparently naturalized in Salisbury, Rowan Co., NC, but I have a bunch of questions which still need to be answered in order to build a knowledge of that line. If anyone can answer any of the following questions, I would be elated.
If Peter Cain received naturalization papers 1764, what guarantees do we have that it is the Peter Kane who immigrated from Germany? I know the names are interchangeable but why would one use different names within a three month span but still use Kane in his will?
Is Peter Kane's immigration tied to a ships record?
What was the actual date of death for Peter Kane?
Were Peter Kane and Catharine married in Germany or in North Carolina?
Which children of Peter Kane were born in Germany, if any?
What was the date of death for Catharine?
Where were Peter Kane and Catharine buried? Are their graves still extant?
Are there confirmed dates of birth for any of Peter's and Catharine's children?
Are there any male Cains, with Peter Kane as an ancestor, who have participated in the genetic testing and now have evidence of their nationality?
