If anyone is related to John Leo Cain who graduated from Springfield High School in 1945, married Mettie Mae Cox from Chatham IL.....
I have a bunch of old family pictures and items that came from his home that you can have. Most of the pictures are not labeled, so I unfortunately won't know if you get items from the Cain side of the family or the Cox side. But you are welcome to them.

Subject: [CAIN] Marriage records
Where would the list recommend as the best source on the web for searching
county marriage records? I am interested in Cain marriages in Hardin,
Nelson and Grayson counties, 1790-1840. Need to find a website that is
searchable, and have not yet found a good one.
Thanks!

I passed this post on to a few researchers who have shared a lot of Cain info with me. One person replied to say he had researched this Patrick Cain for a while. He owned a tavern in MD and most of his descendents migrated to the Carolinas. Hope that helps Patrick find a home in someone's tree.
My Cains migrated from (possibly first MD) NJ, PA,then to VA/WV (Reedy, Wood Co. VA abt 1814).
Then around 1910-1920 my great grandfather and siblings moved to PA, OH, and MO. I am looking for info on Luanna (aka Louise) Cain b 1873 in Reedy, Roane Co. WV and died in 1943, possibly in Pgh PA. From what I can see on old pics, she may have never married.
