I'm particularly interested in any and all information you may have on James Cain, the first son of John and Ruth Blythe Cain of North Carolina. I also have a James Cain in my family who was born about 1799 but do not have any other information on him (mother, father, siblings, or where he came from). He and his wife, Sarah (no known maiden name), first appeared in the Freeport, Butler Co, PA area. In 1826 his name appears on the fist separate assessment list of Freeport. He and Sarah had six children named John, Thomas, Mary, James, Levi (my great grandfather), and Harrison. I have no further information about him. Any help would be appreciated.

Seeking information on my ggggrandfather PHILIP KANE/CAIN/KAIN
He was born November 19, 1819 in County Cavan. I do not have parish
information nor any information on his family (parents, siblings, etc)
He immigrated to the US around 1841 (according to the 1900 US census). I
believe I have found him on the manifest for the Ship Susquehanna from
Liverpool to Philadelphia on May 15, 1840. He was travelling with a PATRICK
KANE. A PATRICK KANE did later settle not too far from Philip and his family
in Bradford County, Pennsylvania.
In 1850, I believe I have located Philip in Banks, Carbon County, PA living
in a household with PATRICK SMITH. Quite possibly either working on the
canal or in the coal mines.
In 1860, the family appears for the first time on the Bradford County, PA
census for Wilmot Township.
He married a MARGARET SMITH (b. August 25, 1830 - October 22, 1895) some
time prior to 1851.
They had the following children:
MARY ANN KANE (1851-1929) m. 1880 JOHN W. ROUSE (1851-1929) - 8 children
MARGARET KANE (March 18, 1853 - October 5, 1883) Never married.
CHARLES KANE (1855 - 1931) m. MARY HARRISON (March 1, 1865 - April 14,
1936) - 9 children
ELLEN E KANE (1856 - 1952) Never married.
CATHERINE KANE (Jul 1859 - November 26, 1934) m. RICHARD TAFFE/TAAFFE (April
27, 1845 - November 13, 1926) - 5 children
JAMES PATRICK KANE (1862 - Feb. 10, 1932)
SARAH JANE KANE (Jan. 1, 1863 - August 1, 1871) Never married.
SUSAN KANE (August 25, 1864 - December 4, 1887) Never married.
BRIDGET KANE (August 22, 1865 - Mary 10, 1896) Sister Mary de Chantal of the
Immaculate Heart of Mary, Scranton, Pennsylvania
PHILIP KANE, JR.(1869 - 1956) m. 1908 ANNA NORTH (1875 1960), daughter of
JOHN NORTH and MARY RYAN - 3 children
The entire family is buried at St. Basil's Catholic Church in Dushore,
Sullivan County, Pennsylvania which is just over the county line from the
Irish Settlement in Wilmot Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania where the
family resided.
Any information on his parents/siblings would be most appreciated.
