Ok. Start with local listings (white pages) for Orlando Florida. She is a "spokesperson" for either Orange County Sheriff or Orlando Police Dept. Check Orlando Sentinel paper (almost any day you choose) and she will have a comment about incidents, suspects, crimes, etc. committed. Newspapers are avail. online, search for her name should get results. I'll do the same. If I make progress, I'll get back with you.

Thank you for your reply. When you said to check local listings, what did you mean? I will look for telephone listings...but these appears to be quite a few Candy Kanes with various spellings! I so hope she is looking for her family as well!

For the time I knew Farrell (1973-death) he lived in Seatte or Yakima & was married to "Kit" (last) who outlived him, but I don't know if still alive today. I'm not certain that Jess Bell Cain and Jesse Cain are the same person. Anglo, small build, blue eyes - all fits. Was your gmother's name Rebecca or Becky or last name LePointe? Rather than ancestry, I'm trying to locate live relatives of my children - whom they don't even know and I dont think relatives are aware of them. I have been unsucessful in contacting Steve's sister Diane (Harvey) whom I think lives in CA. Farrell's g-kids (from his son Steve) haven't all met....and I think I can help facilitate that if I can find them. Two bros & a sis want to contact 2 other bros - sons of Lynn (Greer) Cain and I believe they lived in Texas in late 60's early 70's. Does this help?

Rumor has it there were 3 bros from Isle of Man who came here to settle. Farrell ended up in Washington state. The others I'm not sure, but I have a source who may know that I can ask. It appears Farrell married at least twice - once to Opal Winifred Gutherie (sp?) aka "Toni" and then to Katherine (Kit) whom he was married to when he died. PLEASE - I am interested in the Hutto connection you mentioned. I was Hutto, daughter of Wayne B. Hutto, son of Ruth Evelyn Stacks & James Stancil Hutto. His sisters were Avis and Bera and a bro named Foy. Any connection?

Just got your reply - Thanks. I'm pretty sure that Winifred's maiden (or other married name) was Guthrie. My info shows Farrell Cain's (Winifreds husb) mom as Rebecca (?) LePointe, dad as Jesse R. Cain and he had a brother named Robert. Since Farrell was born in 1912 in Seattle, d. 1989. Steve (his son) b. 12/20/44; d. 7/2000 (?). Steve married 4 times - Lee Ann Gordon, Lynn Greer, myself and last mrrg - name uncertain, starts with M. Also, Hutto is not involved in this ancestry. MY maiden name is Hutto. James Stancil & Ruth Evelyn Stacks are NC ancestry, migrating to Alabma. If any of this makes sense, let me know. Thank you.

If this is the Winfred Austin CAIN, b1895 TX d1980 TX family, I am related to this line. Winfred is the son of Prentice Cameron CAIN and Pearl SMITH. We also have HUTTOs tied in. I bet there is a tie between our lines.
I am working collectively with a carload of CAIN cousins researching this and assoicated lines. Although I don't have your Steven Armond in my database, perhaps one of the other researchers does. Please feel free to contact me if you feel this is your bunch.

Shirley,
Yes, one of Samuel's sons was named Abel and he did marry Alvira Dyer in 1860. This Abel is Jewell Shriver's G-Grandfather.
Two of Samuel & Elizabeth Neely-Cain's other sons were arrested as a result of the Hoskinsville rebellion. Samuel & Elizabeth are buried in the old Hoskinsville Cemetery. Not the one at Ragan's Chapel.
My line is descended from Samuel & Elizabeth's son Robert Reed Cain & Elizabeth Geary. They are buried in Hiramsburg.
I can send you a gedcom file on these Cains if you'd like.

After this new information that you just sent me, I found another lady that says that she has a Abraham "Abel" Cain whose father was Samuel Cain. This Abraham "Abel" married Alvira Dyer in 1860 in Noble County, Ohio. Does this ring any bells?

Shirley,
Now that I've read more of your posts, I'm sure the lady from Caldwell that you've mentioned is my distant relative, Jewell Shriver. I last spoke to her by phone a couple years ago and I'm sure I would have heard if she had passed away. She told me about the ferry also. She also said that Abel used to take barges down the Ohio & Mississippi. Abel & Hannah settled in Coshocton Co. and raised a family. When they moved on to Illinois some of their adult children and their families moved with them. Abel is supposedly buried in Watseka, Ill.

Shirley,
Samuel Cain & Elizabeth Neely are my GGG-Grandparents but Samuel's father was Abel Cain. Or at least that is what has been passed down through the family. Samuel was living with his parents in Toronto, OH in 1803 when OH became a state.
My Uncle Paul Cain and a distant relative, Jewell Shriver, did quite a bit of digging. According to Jewell, Abel married Hannah Cable after Samuel's mother died (probably). She said that there is a record at Jefferson Co. courthouse where Abel was sued by John Edwards for support for Samuel.
Do you have any evidence that Walter Sr. is Samuel's father?
Thanks,
Sally

Brenda,
I think I can help a bit. Over the years I have corresponded with a lady in Newark, Ohio by snail mail. She was from this same line of Walter Cain. Also another lady from Caldwell, Ohio was from that line too. I don't know if either one of these ladies are still alive or not. I haven't heard from them since the 1980's.
But I can tell you that their information stated that Walter P. Cain was the son of Walter Cain, Jr. & Anna B. Naylor. And Walter Cain, Jr. was the son of Walter Cain, Sr. & Mary Ann Van Buskirk. This information I gave you in my last correspondence.
Walter Jr. was born Nov. 4, 1791 in Brooke County, VA and married June 10, 1813 in Jefferson County, OH. He died Jan 9, 1832 in Jefferson County, OH. His wife was born Feb 17, 1797 in Baltimore County, MD to Samuel Northland Naylor & Rebecca Perrigo.
Walter & Anna's children to the best of my knowledge were: 1. Mary Jane m. Moses H. Ong on Aug 29, 1833 Jefferson Co. OH 2. Rebecca m. William Hunter 3. Lawrence B. b. 1817 & m. Sarah A. Smith 4. Rosanna b. Aug 4, 1819, m. Joseph Mendenhall on Feb 25, 1841 Morgan Co. OH d. Jan 12, 1863 Morgan Co, OH 5. George b abt 1825 & m. Sarah Thompson 6.Anna Maria m. Thomas Worthington 7. Sarah Ellen 8. Walter P. m. Mary Ellen Jones.
One of these ladies also stated that Walter Cain ran a ferry service across the Ohio River into VA/WV. So there may be a thread of truth there for you to work on. But she also stated that she looked in history books in the library in Stuebenville & found nothing about it. She also had a family bible that went back to 1749 but not that far back on the Walter Cain line. She also stated that Walter Sr had served in the Militia at Fort Liberty from 9/9/76 to 1/1/77 under Capt. Thomas Gaddis.
I have been to the courthouse in Stuebenville & found records that state that Walter Sr bought land in that area as early as 1794 (in Book C Page 599 he sold it to Walter Jr.)
Now I have a request for you. Will you share what you have about Walter P Cain's family with me? That way, in the future, maybe I can help somebody else with their search.
Regards,
Shirley
