Deb,
I'm trying to find somebody working on a Scottish line as my DNA seems to match more closely with at least one other person of Scottish ancestry. There are lots of things online about the Isle of Man where there were MANY Cain/Caine families. I have a few ladies that I have had contact with doing research in England, but I haven't been able to do much with Ireland yet. I'm still looking though.

Good afternoon Julie,
I'm not sure if you still check this site or if you will receive this but Im hoping so.
It appears that you may be my cousin or something along this line.
I too had a grandma named Roberta (goodwin), uncle Tony, and an aunt Sherry.
My grandpa, married to Roberta, is Harold Cain.
Roberta died when I was 11 and right now I am 26 (born in 1978).
Grandma and Grandpa had (as far as i'm aware) 5 children.
Tony, Bob, Mike, Sherry, Larry.
Larry died within two months of birth.
Bob died in a bar fight at around the time of your birth 77 - 80 give or take a couple of years.
He was stabbed after coming outside I believe in the Benicia or nothern California area. I could be wrong though.
My dad is named Mike and we once lived in Idaho from 1979 - 1985.
He married Connie and they are now divorced. Had three kids.
Me -1978 California
My brother Nathan 1980 Idaho
Sister - Christine 1990 California
Uncle Tony was married to Sue and they are now divorced. They had two children, Tony and Theresa.
They still live in Idaho.
Sherry lives in Salt Lake City, UT and is married to John (not sure last name)
They have several children.
I hope you receive this I was able to shed some light upon your journey to find your family.
Feel free to email me at mattc(a)jlprecision.com and maybe I can offer some more information. I am assuming you are Bob's daughter but im not sure. Maybe his real name was harold and he went by Bob. I thought my old man once told me his brother was named Harold in his birth name.
Good luck,

Hi Ann,
I have not been able to figure out how that Bridget Cain fits in. Was she listed as a widow in the 1851 census or does it say how old she was or where she was born? If she was born or married in Lucan, I think I can check church records. Maybe there would be baptismal records for the children. Karen

Karen I am also from the Cain line via lucan Ontario.
Michael and Bridget Kennedy Cain had four sons William b1811 married Hannah Flannery and had 9 children including Ellen who is my gggrandma. Michael also had James, Darby, and Michael. They are listed in Fazakas's book about the Donnelly affair, and were a prominent Biddulph family. I am looking for more information because I think they came to Ontario along with my family James Maher. They were all from Tipperary and settled in Lucan. some of my family also went to Michigan (Bay City?) Does anyone have any info about when and how they traveled from Ireland.
There is also a book published about the Cain family. I can not find the name or auther, but will keep looking.

Paul Robert Cain of Delphi, Indiana was killed November 16, 1943, in the South Pacific during World War II. He is officially listed as missing or buried at sea. His name appears on the “Tablets of the Missing” at the Manila American Cemetery in the Philippines. We are seeking information regarding his military and civilian life.
I am a retired Hoosier from Madison County residing in the Philippines with my Filipino wife. We are seeking family and military information about servicemen from your county killed in the South Pacific during World War II. There are 17,206 Americans buried here and thousands more that are missing or buried at sea and are honored on the “Tablets of the Missing”. Please visit our website to see the beautiful memorial located in Manila, Philippines.
http://fizkid.tripod.com/
My wife and I visited the cemetery as visitors and left with a mission in our heart. We have been taking photographs of the graves of the Indiana servicemen buried here and have been uniting them (at no charge) with their family members in Indiana and across the United States. To receive the photo of your family member, neighbor or friend all you need is a working email address. We do not send them to regular mailing addresses due to the costs. Please help us find the families of the men that might still be living. Our project is only successful because of teamwork and your contributions are noted on our website. If you wish to help us we will be pleased to add your name to our ACKNOWLEDGMENT page on the website. The obituaries usually did not appear till to three months after the death date.
If you are not a genealogist you can help by just picking up the telephone directory and find someone with the same last name and give them a call. It has worked many times for us.

Hello,
My 3xGrt. Grandfather Thomas Cain came from County Cork, his daugther Julia
Cain was born 1810 Kinsale Co.Cork.
I didn't know there were more Cains in one part of Ireland than the other.
I just thought Cain was an Irish name.
What about Mc Cain is that Irish or Scottish?
Regards Kathleen.

Thanks!
