mmm not sure our cains are the same but here is what I have:
Daniel Cain and wife Elizabeth S. are first found in Jackson County, Alabama on the 1819 Indian Squatters Petition. Next they are found in the 1830 Jackson County, Alabama Census Pg. 80. i cannot locate daniel in the 1840 census but seeing as he was 50-60 in 1830 he may have passed away. i was able to locate an elizabeth cain in the 1840 census but cannot definitely say this is his wife. They had the following children that I know of through contact with other family members:
Robert Cain born 1809 North Carolina he married Jemimiah ?
Alford Cain born 1820 probably Alabama he married Harriet Kirby (this is my line)
Eliza Cain born 1814 in North Carolina she never marries
Abel Cain married Jane Anderson and lived in Tennessee no trace is found of him
Ann E Cain born 1818 in North Carolina she marries Marcus Mark Massengale.
Sarah Irvine Cain born March 30, 1819 Franklin County, Tennessee death Aug. 3, 1880 in Jackson County, Alabama buried in Brown-Cox Cemetery, Jackson County, Alabama she married Thomas Brown on Jan. 27, 1842 Jackson County, Alabama
Irvine Cain went with the railroad to Memphis, Tennessee no trace is found of him
this family was very involved in the railroad and it's construction all traces of the cain family in jackson county completely disappear by 1870 moved with the railroad?
if any of this rings a bell i'd love to share information this line of my family is like digging needles from a haystack.
Liz

This is all we know about Abel Patrick Cain.
His wife was born about 1812 so he was born probably before that.
His son James Michael Cain was born in Tallapoosa Co, AL in 1834. Abel dies the next year in Pensacola Florida while working on the keel of the first battleship. Abel's wife is next found in 1840 & 1850 in Lee Co, Ga, then Baker Co, GA 1860, then Bastrop Co, TX in 1880. She was in born in Jefferson Co, GA so figure Abel had to have met her in GA.
James states his father was born in GA on the 1880 census, but we know how that goes.
His grandson dicatated a book to his daughter in which he states "42 Cains came over from Galway, Ireland in early 17th century. Most joined continental Army. One killed on board."
Abel's son James states he went to Atlanta Ga to visit an Uncle who was a doctor. His wife and children were there during the civil war as their house burned down and they escaped. Not sure if this Uncle was of his father and a Cain or of his mother a Knight.
There are 2 other Abel Patrick Cain's running around that might be related but we can't connect them.
When was your Abel born and where?

I'm seeking any further information about the family of James Cain and his wife Amelia Rose, née Humberstone who lived at 4 Ledbury Mews North, Kensington in 1910. They had a son, James William, in January 1910.
If you have any knowledge of this family or of any relatives then I'd be very interested.

Hi, I'm sure this is coincidence but the location makes me wonder. I recently visited the grave of my gggrandma Catherine Telitha Cain Trosper. She is buried at Frankfort, Kansas, next to my gggrandpa Peter Trosper. They were both born and were married in Knox Co, Kentucky. Where did your Cains originate? Bill Trosper
