I don't have any info on his family (except that his wife was named Mary). He was a member of Phillips Legion Infantry Co E (The Blue Ridge Rifles) which was comprised of men from Lumpkin, Hall and White counties. Here's his roster entry.
Jesse Cain - Co E - 1906 Roster Commission Roll states "Died in W.Va. 11/9/61" Pension applications from his widow Mary in the 1890s state that he died between 11/9/61 and 12/20/61 in W.Va or Dublin, Va. of measles. In these applications, three veterans of Co E attest to his death by disease in 1861

I'm a cousin. We would be linked through Patrick's brother John Bernard Cain. His son Thomas Irvin married Nora (Nona) V. Ryan.
Do you have info on any of Patrick's 12 children? I assume you are connected through Ria Nash to Theresa Vivian (Cain) Nash, etc.
