I am trying to find out info on Cicero Cain and Mary Cain. I have the 1850-1880 Gwinnett GA census and they are on th e1850,1860 as kids living at home with family. They don't line there in 1870 census as a married couple. They return to Gwinnett in 1880 census with their children. Cicero's father James Cain is a neighbor to Ephriam Sizemore on 1850,1860, census. Cicero and Ephriam's son Seaborn J Sizemore grow up together as kids living next door. They were both born 1844 gwinnett GA. Then on the 1880 census they again live as grown neighobrs raising their own kids. Cicero had a son John WM Cain b- 1866 Gwinnett and Seaborn had a daughter Vina Rose Sizemore b- 1866 Gwinnett. They grew up as neighbors too according to census. I think they married and were my gt grandparents. I have him as WM J J Cain and Vina Rose Sizemore Cain.
All info I had has him going by William. I am trying to find a way to prove that Cicero's son John WM Cain is my WM J J Cain. Please help me find a link. ]
Does anyone have an 1870 census for Cicero and Mary Cain. I can't find them in Gwinnett GA or Dekalb GA which is where Seaborn Sizemore moved before moving back to Gwinnett GA 1880 census.
The bummer is I have no way to track my WM J J Cain and Vina R Sizemore Cain from 1880-1900. I have both 1880 and the 1900 census and it doesn't help me any. He is listed as John Wm Cain b- 1866 age 14 child of Cicero and Mary Cain on the 1880 and married to Vina R Sizemore Cain living in Lawerece County AL along with their 7 children in 1990 census. I need to find the missing link. Does anyone have any info on Cicero's children? Or are they related in anyway?

Cynthia,
I am thrilled to hear from you. I had no idea that a Mallette reunion was being held in Baltimore. I had no idea that Mallettes were still living in Maxton, NC. The Cain reunion is to be held in Maxton in July.
I called Frank Cain at his residence and left a message with his wife. He never called me back. It is so frustrating to know you have kin that no one ever told you about and for some reasons there is no connection. Cynthia, we are kin. There is no doubt in my mind that you, Frank and the Mallete's are my kin. Hattie Cain Mallette was my great aunt. Her father was George Cain, Maxton, NC, a blacksmith. I have a copy of his picture.
Please, I am hoping you, Frank and all the kin to the CAIN family that you know will come to the Cain reunion. I will keep you posted.
I am a teacher and I work 12 months a year. I will try and make the Mallette reunion if my schedule dictates. Keep me posted.
William

Hello Billy,
It's been awhile. Please forgive not responding earlier, but this past year has been really busy. How's the effort on your family reunion in Baltimore. Remember, I mentioned my aunt went to a family reunion with Malettes from Maxton, NC. They also are havng a family reunion in Baltimore the week of July 19th. Is your reunion part of that same group.
Until later,
God bless your family,
Cynthia Martin

I must admit to still being a bit perplexed by the 1850 census in Sampson
county, NC showing Mary BEDSOLE enumerated with her father Robert BEDSOLE's
household while Wiley CAIN & his wife Mary already had two children and must
have been together 3 years by 1850 in Cumberland county, NC. I recognize that
it is not unheard of for the same person to be enumerated in two differnt
households of the same census. If the BRYANT family history notation that
Mary (???) Cain, wife of Wiley CAIN, is correct in stating that she was a
BEDSOLE, I think the Sampson county family is the only BEDSOLE family with a
KNOWN daughter Mary of that age.
As I am still doubtful because of the 1850 census entry for Robert Bedsole
family showing Mary still in the household, I continue to look elsewhere.
Today, I noticed the following mystery in the Bladen county census entries of
1830 & 1850 for Duncan BEDSOLE family.
.........
In 1850 census of Bladen county, Duncan & Catherine Bedsole, both age 52, are
enumerated with children:
Sarah 23, Nancy 21, Travis 19, Thomas 19, Duncan 13, Catherine 10.
However, the 1830 census has his household with:
2 girls under age 5 ......................... Sarah 3, Nancy 1 ... OK so far.
and one over 5 but less than 10..... (who is this???? she may be Mary Bedsole
Cain born abt 1821 and gone from the household by abt 1846)
Further (though unreliable) evidence:
LDS IGI data has Mary Bedsole daugh of Duncan b. 11 Sep 1820.
However, Duncan did not marry Catherine Hair until at least 6 May 1825 (per
marriage bond). So, for there to have been a female child of age 5 or more at
time of 1830 census, the child was born before Duncan's marriage to Catherine
Hair. This strongly suggests either an earlier wife, or that Catherine Hair
already had a child (from an earlier marriage?) by 1825.... which could be
Mary.
Several genealogies have Duncan with a second wife .... did he have another
wife before Catherine?
Anyone know who the other female in the 1830 census for Duncan BEDSOLE
household would be if not Mary (Bedsole) Cain, wife of Wiley Cain?

I recently received information on an obituary from the Clay Center Time Aug 13, 1942, p1 c7 It states that Nicholas Cain, age 63 had died, he was listed as the son of Peter and Emma Cain, born January 9th at Braidry Wood, Il. and lists six brothers Frank of Redding, CA, Ben of Salina, KS, Albert of Abilene, KS John of Wynoka, OK, and Willie of Minneapolis, KS. it also shows three sisters, Mrs, Carrie Pooler of Abilene, KS, Mrs. Annie Eaves of Manchester, KS, and Mrs Gertie Earls of Woodlake, Ca.
Let me know if this helps as I am also researching Albert who I believe was my father Paul Frederick Cains father, his wife's
name was Alma but I don't know her maiden name, she died 23 Aug 1938.
