in Pennsylvania and have been checking Fayette, Washington and there abouts.
I am also checking Cumberland Co as Elizabeht Brandt Cain came from there.

John Cain born abt 1794 in probably Pennsylvania and married Elizabeth

of Lodwick Brandt. John and Elizabeth's children were: Lewis, James, John,
Isaiah. (Elizabeth was married first to Jacob Mohler and had the following
children:Eliza, Mary, Martin and Jacob)
Lewis' married Sarah Keenan in 1852 in Perry co. Ohio. Their children were:
Samuel, Benjamin, Alva, Mary, William, charles, Daniel, Martha, Emily
Letitia. After the death of Lewis the family moved to Crawford Co. Illinois
and then some moved on to Clay Co. and Cloud Co. Kansas in 1880.
James Cain married Ann Maria Deckor in 1838. Their children are: Mary,
Henry, Sarah, Emily, Ellenora, Caroline, Harriett, Robert, Catharine,

Thank you. It is a coincidence, my Patrick Cain b. abt. 1765 had brothers
John, Michael and Matthew, and also the following sons:
John
James
Daniel
William
I do not know where Patrick and his brothers were born. But I do know that
at least Patrick ends up paying taxes in Grayson Co. Ky by 1792.
Anyone else see anything familiar?

As far as I know mine didn't go to KY. My John Cain married Elizabeth
Brandt Mohler in 1815 in Perry Co. Ohio and they had 4 sons-- John, Jr;
Louis, Isiah and James. One of Louis' sons was named Daniel. Living next
door to Eliz and John was a Patrick Cain whom I am sure is his father but
still no proof. My website has a lot of Cain info on it but also has my John
and Elizabeth Cain info on it.

I have a Patrick b. abt. 1765 also, with brothers John and Daniel, possibly
Matthew and Michael. Are you sure yours ended up in Ohio? Mine was in
Grayson Co. KY in 1810 and 1820. I wonder if they could be the same, but
owned land in both states?

Hi, I'm looking for any information about my Cain relatives. James W. Cain was born Feb. 2, 1870 in Vanport PA according to funeral home. James married Anna Brown (b. Feb. 8, 1874). They were in Armstrong County in Kittanning where my grandfather (Francis Earl Cain) was born November 1901. James died on July 5, 1946 in Allegheny County. James and Anna's children were Thomas, Francis, Mercedes, James, Anna and Mary. On the 1920 census it stated James parents were born in Ireland. I looked on the 1880 census and all I could match up with Jame's year of birth was an Owen Cain with a son James born in 1870. Don't know if this is my James. If anyone has any information about James or Anna's parents or siblings it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Kathy
Dear Cain Cousins
I am searching Daniel Cain of Sugarcreek Township, Greene County, Ohio. He purchased land from Churchill Jones-100 acres part of 1000 acres that had been originally awarded to Churchill Jones for Revolutionary War service. Benjamin Allen also purchased 100 acres from Churchill Jones the same day and it was land that adjoined Daniel Cains.
Daniel Cain had a daughter, Hannah, who married Samuel Knight in 1799 in Guilford County, North Carolina, Another daughter was Christine who married a Sanders and another was Temperance who married Lewis Bingamon-all of which can be found in Greene Co., OH, before 1820. I believe most of these people came with Daniel Cain from Guilford County where he can be found in the 1790 census. He married Sarah Knight in Greene County in 1814. Robinsons History ages him to be over 100 years dying after 1850 and buried on the Benjamin Allen farm.
My connection is through Abner who married Elizabeth Paulin in 1818. He is closely associated with all of the people above. I wish to prove or disprove his parentage. Is anyone else searching this line? Please let me know. I wish to compare notes.
