Dear John,
Thanks for that info. The names are very similar to the ones I have, but
JAMES'S children were born in Australia.(that I know of). That's one of the
reasons why they are so hard to track. His death transc. says all
unknown.Yet, his wife was alive at the time. His son found him and son
in-law.Yet, buried as an unknown?Strange.
Thanks for taking the time, to do that for me..regards Lesley

Eellitta,
Yes, I would like the information on Squire William and Amy. Would you like to see what I've been able to gather on the Cain and Tyner Family connectio? Will also give you a file on Rachel Ann Tyner and William Beavers if you like. I have several generations on them.
I have another question concerning the Cain family. I show 12 children for Edward Cain and Amanda Jane Tyner, but only have dates and info on 1 of them....Elzora Amanda Cain, who married L? Dow Tyner, son of Oliver P. Tyner and Mary 'Vancie' Vancil. Do you, or do you know where I can get the dates and places for the rest of them?
Gary

Hi Gary,
I have a Joshua Tyner (Tiner) who was married to Sabitha (Libby) Hogg. In the 1850 Census of Williamson County in Illinois I have listed:
Joshua Tyner age 45 farmer born Tennessee
Children all born in Illinois:
Amanda J age 17
Oliver P. age 16
Delphia age 14
Lewis W. age 12
James N. age 10
Martin V. age 9
Lucinda E. age8
William T. age 7
Rachel age 3
Since the mother Libby is not mentioned she must have died between 1847 then the youngest child Rachel was born and when this census was taken.
Joshua is mentioned in the 1860 Census of Williamson Co., Illinois - Blairsville post office
Rachel is 12 at this time.
I don't have alot about the Tyners since the person who did the research was only concerned about Amanda J. Tyner and her marriage to Edward Cain.
The Squire William Cain I have was married to Amy Elizabeth Briles Sept. 27, 1892 in Lane Co. Oregon. They had 9 children, all born in Oregon. Squire was born Fe. 20, 1855.
I would be willing to make you copies of these pages, if you would like them.
Eellitta

Hi Eellitta,
I'm very interested in the information about the Tyner's and Cain's and their connection to the Beavers' family. I would like to share what I have to compare with the information in the book you talked about! Also, I have been helping a descendant of Squire Cain and Mary J. Young. Her ancestor is one of their sons, John W. Cain, born April 04, 1867-68 in Cambria, IL. and died August 15, 1969 in AR. He's buried in Wheatly, Ar.. John married Mollie Lite and had 5 children.
My connection is through the Beavers family. Rachel Ann Tyner married William J. Beavers, son of John Beavers and Mary 'Polly' Wilkey. John and Mary Beavers are my 3rd Great-GrandParents through their daughter, Malinda Beavers who married John Lakey. Another connection is Ruth Ann Beavers, daughter of John Beavers (above) and Mildred Brannon. Ruth married William Allen Cain, son of Squire and Mary Cain (above).

This is a guess based on other posts and family ties, but the above may be the son of Joseph A. Cain and Adeline Eliza Reviere who married on Jan. 2, 1868 in Jackson Co., Florida.
It appears that Joseph and Adeline/Eliza had sons Thomas Ruffin and John Marvin Cain. The time of birth you mention would parallel theirs and follow the marriage.
Adeline Eliza was the daughter of Arm(i)stead and Nancy Louise Freeman Reviere of Marianna, Jackson Co. Armstead was the son of Henry Lawson and Mary Wetherly Reviere/Riviere/Revere, originally of Lancaster Co., VA. They were later pioneers of Alabama and North Florida.
We descend from a collateral Reviere/Revier/Riviere/Revere (+ other spellings) line, i.e. Zenobia Magnolia, a sister of Armstead's.
Can you tie Alonzo in? If so, would you pls provide info on his marriage, dates/places, and subsequent generations for our Reviere research?

Mr. Cain....What makes you feel that the Cornelius Cain who married Sarah Hyatt is not the same Cornelius Cain of Augusta (Rockingham) County who was the son of Nicholas Cain? I'm not disagreeing, just curoius. At one point I was unsure that Cornelius Cain, son of Nicholas, survived long after the Revolution, in which he certainly participated. But recently I've come to think that Sarh Hyatt may have been a second wife to Cornelius, and that some of the children ascribled to the couple may have been from a prior marriage. I think that Cornelius, son of Nicholas, may have left Virginia for a brief stay in Kentucky, (Daviess County) and then moved on into Jefferson County, Indiana...the same place as the sons of Edmond Cain settled, at about the same time frame. I never could understand why my Cains headed there....but perhaps Cornelius and some of his kids were there. I'd be interested in your thoughts, or those of anyone else who can shed light on all the Cornelius' out!
there.
