I, too, am looking for Foleys in Parkersburg WV. I am looking for the parents of Douglas Russell Foley, probably born around 1900 in Parkersburg. He married Virginia Enid Archer and had 4 children that I know of:
1) Betty Ann-b.6/28/1928 in Parkersburg-
married 1. ?Bell, 2. Harvey Boyer,
2) Helen-b.? married Charles Beasley
3) Donald-b?
4) Russell-b?
If anyone knows who Douglas' parents were, or who Virginia E. Archer's parents were, please let me know.
I do have some information on earlier Foleys in Parkersburg - who are you interested in?

Looking for info on Isaac G. Whitworth. He became the guardian of my great grandfather William Peter Rasor after the death of his family in 1883 while crossing the Big St. Francois River at the Silver Mines Crossing in Mo.
Have papers where he became guardian & a letter that he wrote to William sister in 1893.
Trying to find out where my William went after the death of his family. I haven't been able to find him in a census again until 1910.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Cynthia

Recently found a will on the internet of Abraham Whitaker, Orange Co., N.C. dated 10 Dec 1803. One of his daughters named in the will was Joana Holiway. Coincidently. Thomas Holiway's (Holloway) property joined the Whitaker property. Thomas Holloway married Joana Cain, the widow of Jacob Cain who died about 1799. He was a son of Hugh Cain, all of Orange Co., N.C. Does anyone have any further info that will clarify if this is the same Joana (Cain?) Holloway?
My cousins and I are searching for our ancestor who from family history is Daniel Cain father of Abner Cain who was married in Greene Co., OH, in 1818. Daniel is believed to have been in Sugar Creek Township. There seem to be several Daniel Cain's in the area or the dates are conflicting. Does anyone have knowledge of the Cains in Greene Co., OH?
Thank you, Dianne Cain Black
Hi,
Did your Cain's live in Perry Co. Ohio? And could you tell me the
timeperiod they lived in? I am researching Cain's from Washington and
Marshall Co KS and also some moved into NE. My Cain's migrated from Perry
Co OH and there was a Mary Scallan's living next door to them in Perry Co
Ohio.
Can you give me more info?
Thanks,
Karen Pickett

Hi,
Since there have been very little messages on the Cain line in New York I had
to respond to yours. My Great-grandfather was John Cain/Caine (spelled both
ways) married to Ann Connel/Connell in New York in June of 1867. I was able
to obtain a copy of that cert. from info. that I had found on the "Brooklyn"
website which had much on Manhattan also, that is where they lived then.
There is also more info. on the cert. I was also able to obtain info. of the
1880 census for them. I do not have any info. on siblings of John Cain.
Well, I know that this info. doesn't help you but will keep your names on a
list to look for when looking for mine. Would be happy to share info. with
you if you feel that it would help.
