Michelle, Have ya checked the city directories? Seems some of those in
existence from the late 1880's onward in some places. Perhaps go to the
church records?! Know their religion? Perhaps piece that together, or tax
records also? Good luck, Cathy Raber

Surname: Cain, Kane

Hello,
I am making a trip to Ireland at the end of April and am searching for
information about my Great Great Great Grandfather Alexander Cain's family,(b.
approx 1855-58, IRE) married to Lorena May Tucker (b. approx. 1868-71)
Supposedly Alex emigrated from Ireland during the potato famine. He and
Lorena were married in Illinois. Moved to Mills Co., Iowa, Anderson Township.
They had 4 children: Maude Delora, Paul, Boyd, Glen Tucker, and Claud Leroy.
I have found records indicating Claud was born in NE and Maude was born
on 8/15/1897 in Henderson, Mills Co, Iowa (Date of application 3/26/1945).
I have not been able to find any birth records for Paul,Boyd, Glen Tucker
(b. 8/15/1905) or Claud.
Indicated in the 1895 Mills Co. Iowa Anderson Township Census, Alex Cain
with wife Lorena and son Claude resided in this township. Based on dates
I believe they settled in Anderson, IA between 1891-93. Based on Maude's
birth, they must have still been living there up to 1897. In another record,
Alexander Cain was listed on a list of 1892 Southern Iowa Agriculture farmers
in Red Oak, Montgomery Co
Also recorded in the Anderson Township Census, was the residence of Margaret
Cain (Ire) age 65 widow, Ellen Cain, (IRE), and William Cain (IL). Could
Margaret Cain be the mother of Alex ?. Both Alex and Margaret listed a
Sturgeon living with them. Late records indicate the William married Hallie
Dell Adkins. At the time of their marriage (3/10/1887) William was a farmer
in Montgomery. The same county Alex was listed. Maybe they were brothers
and farmed together?
I can't find any records regarding the births of Alex's and Lorena's children,
Paul and Glen. And I haven't been able to find any records indicating where
they lived after 1892. Did they stay in Iowa? My Grandma Jessie Belle Cain,
vaguely remembers living on a farm with her grandparents Alex and Lorena.
She thought the town they were near was Macedonia but I can't seem to find
any records in Pottawattamie Co. Claud Cain married Creole Swacker and
had two children; Jessie and Delmar.
The 1895 Census also notes that Lorena Tucker and Alex came from IL via
NE. I haven't been able to find any records of marriage, emigration in
either state. Hoping that there will be more detail documents listing Alex's
and Lorena's parents and prior residence.
Would you be able to help me out or direct me to records that will help
me find my find this information?
Thanks you for your help,
Michelle
Hi everybody,
RootsWeb has a great St. Patrick's Day site:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~rwguide/notable/stpatrick.htm
May your blessings outnumber
The shamrocks that grow....
And may trouble avoid you,
Wherever you go.
Happy St. Patrick's Day,
Nancy Brister
Researching all of my Irish/Scottish/English ancestors:
McCormick, Carmichael, Garrett, Cain,
Dawkins, Jackson, Osborn, Garmon

Missouri, Texas, Isle of Lismore--Scotland
My great-great uncle, James W. Cain was born in Kansas in 1875, rather than
1885. At the time of his mother's death in 1927 he was living in Sweetwater,
Nolan Co., Texas. After this, I have no record of him. Can anyone connect
to him?
Also, his children's names were Mae and Maurice. I do not know his wife's
name.

Surname: George Albert Cain, William Henry Cain
-------------------------
George Albert Cain b1895 in ?New Orleans, son of William Henry Cain, married
1937 in England to Eva Lea from England. Had 2 daughters Margaret and Barbara.
Returned approx.1948 to New Orleans. Both George and William were Merchant
Seamen making it difficult to trace them. Looking for any link to these
people George is my Grandfather. George is believed to have died approx.1955.
William was deceased on George and Eva's marriage certificate in 1937.
I am looking for information on Coriner (male) CAIN & Evelyn CAIN, son and daughter of
William J. or W.J. CAIN, in or near Detroit Michigan. I have no other information on Coriner and Evelyn, just that their mothers name MAY have been Lizzie, short for Elizabeth I have thought.
Their father, William Jane / W.J. CAIN was a minister in Detroit, he was born in Kentucky 1867 and died in Detroit Mich. 1925. Prior to moving to Michigan, William J. was a minister and school teacher in Ky.
William J.was the son of William CAIN and Martha Elizabeth LAINHART of Madison Co. Kentucky.
If you know of Coriner & Evelyn, or have any information on them please contact me.
Thanks !!!
Kevin...
Is this Abel Patrick Cain? I have a Patrick Cain I am trying to place, he
married Roseanna Wilkinson/Wilkerson b. 1844 TX, children Laurinda/Lucinda Jane
b. 10 Nov. 1875, Will, and Mary Elizabeth "Betty" b. 15 Nov. 1878 Newton Co.,
TX. I am wondering if Patrick is somehow connected to Abel Patrick.
