I am trying to find information on the children of Franklin Cain and Rebecca
Farris. All I have are the initials of the children taken from a family
bible. The last names were also spelled CANE in the bible. This is what
I do have on them:
1. A.E Cane--born 13 Apr 1889---died 9 Aug 1893
2. E.J Cane--born 19 May 1890
3. Corrinne Cane--born 27 Nov 1892 (married a STREBECK)and was living in
Texas
4. Rosa Lee Cane--born 13 Jun 1895 in Columbia La--died in Oakdale, La.
(married Samuel Joseph Whitney)
5. W.A Cane--born 11 Oct 1897
6. R.J Cane--born 2 Jun 1899--died 16 Nov 1911
7. E.C Cane--born 25 Dec 1902--died 14 May 1910
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
I would like to exchange information with anyone who knows or may know
of the following individuals.
1> David or Daniel W. WRIGHT married M. A. CAIN* on 14 SEPT 1874,
Jackson County, WV
2> Frank GREATHOUSE married Rosie WRIGHT on 13 FEB 1886, Calhoun County,
WV
3> Eugenis STUTLER married Rosie GREATHOUSE on 23 SEPT 1887, Calhoun
County, WV
(#1 WRIGHT & CAIN may be my g-grandparents. If so, they had at least two
children, Rufus Alden WRIGHT, my paternal grandfather and his sister
Rosie A. WRIGHT)
Comment: *M.A.CAIN may be either Manerva A. or Minerva A. CAIN. If so,
she may be my g-grandmother, who was listed as having consumption in
the 1880 Census.
Question: Is Rosie WRIGHT GREATHOUSE the same person as Rosie
GREATHOUSE STUTLER? If Rosie is the sister of my grandfather Rufus
Alden WRIGHT, then she would have been very young (about 11 years old)
when she married Frank GREATHOUSE. I can only consider that she
would have married at such a young age because her mother died of
consumption sometime between 1880 and 1886. Was such a marriage
likely then?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will, of course, be
happy to share.
I am sending this to three lists. Please excuse any duplication.
