I ran across a searchable database on the ancestry website that will be
free for the next 10 days. It's a listing of about 8.5% of the U.S. WW
I draft registrants. It supposedly includes men born between 1873 and
1900, including aliens, but I did find some born 1872.
You can include birthdate or state if you want to narrow your search,
for example:
1875 John Armstrong
Armstrong Iowa
Happy hunting!

Hi!
I am a newcomer to this list and must say it looks very good. I haven't seen
anything yet that is related to my Cain's, but I'm hoping to see something
just any day.
I am researching John Francis Cain, b. abt. 1750 possible in Sussex Co. area
of Va. He married Anne Whitworth/Whiteworth 8 Dec. 1796. They were the
parents of John, William, Charles and Ransom. Ransom is my line. I would be
interested in learning more about John Francis and also if he is related to
William Charles Cain, who arrived in America about 1646 from Scotland. He
supposedly settled about the North & South Carolina line. Any help would be
appreciated.
Thanks and keep up the good Cain work.

researching for MD and DE Cain's. At a loss so far. Would appreciate ANY
info regarding Cain families in especially Kent Co., DE and Caroline Co., MD
from about 1830-1880. I have the census records for those counties, but
sometimes can't tie the names into families. Thanks.

They had several children, among them my Grandfather, George Washington

May Cain and spent his entire life in DElta and Red River Counties,
Texas.
Thank you.

Hello everyone again:
I think I confused everyone with the message I sent yesterday which included
the original hoax message that we all got about this e-mail charge
controversy. I am going to shout here: ATTENTION EVERYONE, THIS IS A HOAX.
Enclosed is an extract of a message I received which I sent you all
yesterday but which was buried in the middle of my e-mail. I think a lot of
people thought they were getting the hoax message again.
I apologize for any confusion I have caused. Here is the extracted portion

As you can see, I believe we're OK and this whole thing was just a hoax.
The FCC has already rejected this idea.

I'm sending this to all the Rootsweb Surname lists that I subscribe to. There
is a message regarding the FCC that has been circulating. I have received it
no less than 25 times from people on various Rootsweb mail lists. It is a
HOAX folks! Please don't forward it anymore.
It is my understanding that this is a very old message. Someone has changed
the date to make it look current and sent it out to some Rootsweb mail
lists--from there it has mushroomed!! I don't know why anyone would do such a
thing--I guess they are getting there jollys from it?? Perhaps they hope we
will flood the FCC with mail? I don't know. But let's put a stop to it!
Thanks for listening.
