Hi Justin;
The book containing the Cahoon Family was written by my father in 1987. He published four
volumes of Colquhoun-Calhoun-Cahoon Family History over 766 pages each in hard-backed
cover.
Volume No. 3 contains the Cahoon Family on page 285 and can be followed back to the 12th
century.
Page 285 begins with Capt. John Cahoon b.1673 / Comfort Peet (Only one child, John 2nd, of
several is shown).
John Cohoon 2nd b.1715 / Grace Fuller is shown with 6 of several children.
Nathaniel Cohoon b.1752-1827 / Abia Stuart b.1754-1803 is shown with 8 children.
Stuart Cohoon b.1777-1838 / Charity Culver b.1775 is shown with 8 children.
Pg. 286
Russell Cohoon b. 1808-1893 / Anna R. Colver b.1813-1855 is shown with 7 children
Russell is shown with his second wife Nancy C. Hayner b. 1822-1901 with 2 Hayner children
and 4 others by Russell.
(There are many more pages of descendants from the above families.)
You mentioned that Andrew Cahoon shows up right next door to Nathaniel Cahoon. Is he
Nathaniel's brother?
Regards
Nathaniel and Abiah's daughter Sarah Calhoun (b. April 21, 1784 in Kent, CT) married
John Miller (d. 1-1819 in Benton, Yates Co., NY). If there is any information you would
like to share even on the descendants of John Miller and Sarah Calhoun, you can e-mail me
at justimn2002(a)yahoo.com.
