I am pleased to help in CAHOON research. Here is the exact URL for the
website on the Tulare
County, CA website I spoke of
http://www.compuology.com/cpl/menefee.htm#c.
Thank you, Diana. Yes, that link leads right to him. I see a Calhoun
there, too.
The link leads to the History of Tulare and Kings Counties, CA
biographical
index which includes biographical sketches of the leading men and women who
have been identified with their growth and development from the early days
to the present.
George CAHOON is included in this index, however there is no middle initial
mentioned, so it could be George W. or his son George H. who is mentioned.
You will need to follow instructions to order copies of the biographies, but
they are inexpensive and Tulare County is extremely helpful in getting
information to those who request it.
The website quotes $7 for a copy of the bio, and some lookups. If this
is your George Cahoon, list members, that's a real bargain!
I have pasted this link to the CAHOON resources page. Please let me
know if
there is anything else I can do to help.

This list is at a bit of a disadvantage. I didn't start this list, I
just adopted it as a variant of my maiden name, Cowan. So the list
needs all the real Cahoon researchers it can get! I'm content to be
listowner and GenConnect coordinator, and send along all the snippets
of Cahoon info that come my way, and entice all Cahoon researchers to
join the list, and post to the boards, but that's really all I can do.
The rest is up to you list members.
I also own the Calhoon and Calhoun lists and boards, as well as Cowin
and Cowen, and I administer the Colquhoun boards. So I cross-post
occasionally, and I use PML to search for every mention of any of
these surnames anywhere on Rootsweb, and respond to almost every one
of them. If any of that work sounds interesting to any one of you, I'm
willing to share!
My greetings to you all,
Valorie
