The major time frame for immigration from County Cork was after the
great famine of 1847. The emigrants went mainly to USA,Canada,and
Australia.

People placed ads (letters) in the newspapers as an attempt to find
their families that had immigrated mostly between 1831-1916. There are 6
volumes that have been published by the New England Historic
Genealogical Society,authored by several individuals. The books are
indexed by name and location -each book cost $45.00

Of Judy and Mary CAHILL from the parish of Ballinadee near Bandon,
County Cork. They sailed from London and landed in Flushing,LI in 1844.
When last heard of (in 1849) they were living with Mrs. Highland, 2
Howard's Court, Brooklyn, New York. Any information respecting them will
be thankfully recieved by their brother Michael CAHILL to whom a letter
may be addressed c/o Mr. Martindale,311 No. Second St. Philadelphia,PA.

,Co. Cork who came to this country 2-3 years ago. Their niece Honora
CAHILL has arrived in the ship Ontario and wishes to hear from them.
