I sure don't know much about my John Patrick, except that he was born in
1832 and died in 1900, he married Elizabeth J. Seward on 25 May 1856 in
Glasgow, Howard county, Missouri. According to all the family stories he
came over when he was about 20 years old, give or take a few years, which
would put the date of arrival at about between 1833-1838. I don't even know
which part of Ireland he came from, but do know that most of his children
and grandchildren had black or dark brown hair so he apparently wasn't of
the "red-haired" Irish.
Which Cahill line are you researching. There is more on my line on my
webpage, which will be updated within the next week or so.

Hi,
Intrested in your John Patrick. Do you know when he came over and the name
of his parents. Do you possibly know the county in Ireland.

there may be some. I do know that my John Patrick came from Ireland with
two of his brothers and they were separated (never to see each other
again)
in NYC, then my John Patrick went through Kentucky and Tennessee on
his
migration to Missouri. Sorry, I can't seem to recall the names of the
brothers, I'd heard the story from the time I was a small child related to
me by my grandfather, Lawrence Welchian, and his children.
