Kathleen,
You sound like a reletive of Lily Hammer of NJ. She has relatives that have
a Katy Cahill from County Cork.
Of course we have never proven that, but that is the saying.
Cal is how my grandmother pronounced Cahill, probably the same thing as
Kale. If you have Cahill's in the Newark are then I would guess we have a
connection.
Jack

Hi Jack,
My mother in law's mom was the Cahill. but don't pronounce it K-Hill to
her or you'll never hear the end of it. It's kale not k-hill. she's
to
funny.
she didn't tell me much about the cahill side only that
Catherine came
from cork/waterford area and that Joseph came from Antrim. She
didn't know
much about the families in Ireland only that most of the kids were born
there and the last few here. I'll look more into my notes and hopefully
I'll see her soon to pick her brain again. But she's not as sharp as she
use to be. write soon... kathleen
