You should be able to get a birth certificate for him if he was born in 1875
and that would give the parents' names.

I am also researching my Cahill ancestors from Annaghdown, Galway. I am
looking for a Martin Cahill, born in Castlecreevy, Liscananaun, Annaghdown,
Galway c.1875. By 1901, he had moved to the Liverpool area (Bootle,
actually) to work on the docks. He had a brother named Michael, born c.
1870, that went with him. They both worked variously as dock labourers and
coal heavers. Martin married Ann Jane Carr, whose parents were from Ireland
(she was born in Bootle). This was 1899.
I would like to find Martin's parents in Castlecreevy. I found several
Cahill households there in the 1901 and 1911 Irish census. Does anyone have
any information about the Cahills of Castlecreevy? I'd love to share notes
with anyone reasearching Cahills from the Annaghdown area.
