Sorry folks; I wrote this for Mike Gaudet, a new[to me] enthusiast to West
Prince genealogy. I can't seem to get all your addresses off my Address To
option without starting over again, so you're all getting it. Then again I'm
sure it will be of interest to some of you.

Dear Mike;
I was delighted to hear from you last night. I'm a laborious typist so I will
cut and paste some things that might interest you;
First an excerpt from my piece called, My PEI Ancestors;
O'Connor Surname
Margaret O'Connor(29) is the only forebear of this branch that I am sure of.
The record at St Anthony's, Bloomfield shows the bp 11-2-1840 (b.9-16) of
William Kinch, son of William and Margaret O'Connor. William and Mary are my
forebears, #'s 28 and 29. In the following re-creation I am assuming that
Margaret O'Connor (28) is the 15 yr older on Hill's List of Lot 4 and that
William Kinch (29)is the 20 yr older on Hill's List for Lot 5.
This re-creation is based in part on the fact that there were two different
O'Connor families in Cascumpec in the early 1800's and that a descendant of
one of them, GV "Gerry" O'Connor of Orange, Connecticut has a complete and
accurate family chart of the "other O'Connors." In addition, since Gerry
assures me that his forebears arrived after 1825 when Hill's List was
developed I am laying claim to the apparently orphaned, or at least, "Home
Alone" O'Connor children on that List. That is, the children shown in the
shadowed area on the chart plus the Edward O'Connor who married Margaret
O'Connor, one of Gerry's clan. Incidentally, this Edward's gravestone
indicates he was from County Wexford and Gerry's forebears hail from
Tipperary.
The Mary O'Connor mentioned above, married Patrick Aylward on 11-8-1844 and
is probably the one shown on Hill's list (of Cascumpec 1825/26) as four years
old. She was identified as the daughter of the "Late" Michael O'Connor and
Catherine O'Hara[I think] on the marriage record. I am assuming that; the
Edward O'Connor (who married G.V. O'Connor's ancestor, Margaret
O'Connor),
and the other O'Connors on Hill's List; Margaret 15, Patrick 7, Michael 5 and
Catherine 4 years old are all siblings. (At this point I can't prove this.)
If I am right then, Michael O'Connor and Catherine O'Hara were the parents
of Margaret and all the other O'Connors on Hill's list and would be #'s (58)
and (59) on my, PEI ANCESTOR chart. Unfortunately Michael and his wife,
Catherine O'Hara must have died before Hill made his list in 1825/6 making
the family hard to trace.
However, with few clues some projections are possible; Michael O'Connor and
Catherine O'Hara? would likely have been born in Wexford in 1788 or before if
they were the parents of Edward (b.c1808) and the other O'Connor children on
Hill's List. So that seemed like a good place to look. The Mackies, Ahearns
and [my] O'Connors all seem to come from Wexford so I had hoped to find more
there. However, I recently visited the Heritage Center in Wexford, Ireland
and they tell me my chances of finding any forebears of those who left there
in the early 1800's is pretty slim, as Catholic birth and marriage records
for those years are are hard to find.
Possible First Generations of my, [maternal] O'Connor Forebears:
? >>> There is a chart here but it's on a MacDraw progam and won't
email<<<
Note: a Michael Connor(sic) was among first settlers of Irishtown Lot 18,
a/c Fr. Burke.
I will mail you the first page of the O'Connor Chart which covers what is
missing here. The following is a summary of the whole chart , but as you can
see there is nothing on that to interest you. However if you think you might
want it let me know and I'll send it.
I am sending the whole nine page Kinch Chart though because I don't have any
info about Bridget Aylward etc on a WP program that will email.
I have a problem now though in that apparently I did not copy your Postal
Code in my file when I got it from PEI Heritage Foundation. The address I
have now is;

Please email me your complete address before I try sending the stuff.

Summary of earlier generations on the O'Connor Chart:
The descendants of Maurice O'Connor and Alice Quinlan on this chart are for
the most part not part of my family history except for my belief that the
Edward O'Connor that married their daughter Margaret O'Connor may have been
related[a brother?] to the Margaret who married, William Kinch(see Kinch
Chart) my forebear.
Margaret and Edward(both nee O'Connor) settled in Kildare as did many of
their children although by the next generation most had left the area. Some
married into the families described on my other charts and are described
there. Other Island names that appear on this chart are: Aylward [aka,
Elsworth], Cahill, Cluney, Conroy, Lane, Sullivan, Mackie, White, Hogan,
Kehoe, Burke, Keefe, Gorman, Brooks, Leonard, Hughes, Kilbride, Coffey,
Moriarty, Murphy, Rogan, Boyd, Callaghan, Kilfoil, Foley, Barry, Doyle and
Carter. Most of the information on this family comes from the family records
of G.V. O'Connor of Orange CT and I can't tell whether all these surnames are
really of Islanders or not.
The first confirmed record I have of the other O'Connors is the birth of John
Kinch to William Kinch and Margaret O'Connor, my great great grandparents. I
am assuming she was the 15 year old Margaret that was on Hill's List of
Inhabitants of Lot 4 in 1825. I have reconstructed an O'Connor family based
on the appearance of the (orphaned?) Margaret and her four siblings on Hill's
Michael O'Connor and Catherine O'Hara to Patrick Aylward in 1844. Mary,
(according to Hill) would have been about 19 years old then. I have not
been able to find any later records that match the other siblings. The
Edward O'Connor who married Margaret O'Connor from the other O'Connors was
not on Hill's List but could have been an older brother who was not living
with them at the time.
Other O'Connors I could speculate about is the Micheal who was listed by Fr.
Burke among the earliest settlers of Irishtown [Lot 18], the Mary (wife of
Donald Ramsay) who, according to records at St. John the Baptist church at
Miscouche was the mother of George Ramsay who married Ann Ahearn in 1839 and
lived in Kildare and the Catherine whose son John Ryan, according to the same
records married Catherine Kieffe (a Cascumpec name) in 1843.
See: Ahearn [MacDonald], Dalton [McCarthy], Kinch[O'Connor], Mackie [Myers],
McCarthy, or Whalen Charts for more details.

Another person you might be interested in is;
Robare, Linda-Talbot 5626 Ledge Rd Madison, OH 44057 Descendent of Wm Kinch
and Bridget Aylward. I haven't been in contact with her for years so I don't
know much about her situation or present interest.
I know this is all pretty disjointed, so I hope you will be able to follow it
all.
