Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Thank you so much for your reply. Mary J. Cahill O'Neil and Charles Francis O'Neil's daughters Sue and Alice were living independently in Lowell by 1921, so it doesn't seem that the Charles born in 1892 was her husband. I do wonder if there is relationship somewhere, as in other family lines I have often found that family names are used over and over again, sometimes for generations.
Family lore has it that Charles F. abandoned the family, and Mary had a difficult time, raising three young daughters while working in the mills in Lowell. I have found another Charles Francis O'Neil living in Lowell, but he was a member of what seems to be a very prosperous family, with no apparent relationship.
I will keep a lookout for your relatives...sometimes information comes together in unexpected ways!
