Charles Cagle was married to Mary, she was born 1740 .
He had a grandson named Jacob born 1815, when his father died, he was nine
years old, his mother put him in another home so he could learn the trade of
a blacksmith. Jacob lived with this family until he was twenty one years.
When he left, they gave him some money and a pair of pants and a new shirt.

Notes: Melinda Adkins, wife of James Adkins, was the daughter of George W.
Cagle , and in the 1850, Census of DeKalb. Co. had been listed as Melinda
Cagle , 17. George W. Cagle , it is believed, died in DeKalb County, sometime
during the 1860s, and is buried in an unmarked grave at Deer Head Cove
Cemetery, where son William is buried in 1862 and son Charles was buried in
1870. Also living in DeKalb County, AL. at the time of 1860 census was Martha
