Do you know of any researches of Cagles in the Spanish American War? We
are sending for military records, but it can take a long time. Stories
are that Walter was with Teddy Roosevelt in Cuba, but we haven't been
able to confirm. He was listed as a laborer in Georgia in 1900, was in
the Philippines in 1910, and did retire with 30 yrs (15yrs. overseas
duty). He waited until 1917,when he was 44 to marry, and age 48 to
father his son. He retired in National City, a suburb of San Diego, CA.
