Thanks for pointing this out, John.
I have removed Dewalt from the name of my Ancestor and will refer to him
in future correspondence as Johann Theobald Cagle.
I knew Dewalt was David, but didn't know Theobald was also, David.
One should learn something new everyday so, now I can quit for the day
and
watch old movies the remainder.

After reading countless messages concerning the names Leonard
Kegel's
sons, I started searching to see if I could come up with something

might help us. I found the following site that explains the naming
of
the German and PA German children. The address is
www.kerchner.com/nickname.htm . After looking at the Americanized
versions of some of the names, go to the very bottom of the page
and
click on German Naming Customs. I think that will explain why we
might
have 2 Johns or Georges or whatever in this family. Hope it helps
someone.
