Nancy & List:
Thanks, Nancy. Maybe, if we can get everyones input, we can finally come
up with the whole story as near as possible
for these older ancestors. With a piece here and another there the
puzzle begins to take form.

1830 Warren County, TN
Cagle, Charles 202001 - 120001 (p.373) 1840 Walker Co. AL
Notes: Charles Cagle is believed to have been born in North Carolina in
1790s, and migrated to Warren Co., TN in the era of 1810-12, with the
family groups headed by Jacob Cagle, 1755-1845, and Valentine Cagle, b
1755-60. In the 1820 and 1830 censuses, Charles was apparently in
Tennessee. but by 1840, had move to Walker Co. AL. (that part which is
now Winston County,), and was listed with his six sons and two daughters,
as follow;
Notes; His location for the 1850 census was Hancock (Winston) Co. AL. His
daughters are belived to have been named Martha and Rhodie Cagle, and his
sons wre as follows: (page 742 Vol II).
John ("Goffer John") b.ca.1821 (1850 DeKalb Co. AL.)
Lloyd H., b.ca.1824 ( " " " .)
James Riley b.ca.1826 (1850 Winston, AL )
Jeremiah ("Jerry") b.ca.1829 (1850 DeKalb Co. AL )
George Washington b.ca.1835 (1870 Pope , ILL. )
Sials, b.ca.1838 (1860 Dunklin, MO )
1840 Walker Co, ALA.
Cagle, Charles 1122001 - 0100101 (p.300)(1850--- ? maybe Wintson Co. AL)
Notes: a second-hand report indicates that John T., Loyd H., and
Jeremiah, along with their brothes Riley (b.1820s) and Silas b. 1838,
with sisters Martha and Rhodie, were the children of Charles Cagle, who
died in Alabama. The Charles who seems to match their description most
closely would be Charles Cagle
of 1840 Walker Co. AL. (now Winston Co.) who had six sons and two
daughters at home in 1840. The fact that Jeremiah and Loyd H. later
owned land in Winston Co. in 1855 and 1857 show that they did have ties
to Winston.

Leannah Cagle, the daughter of Valentine Cagle, Jr. , b. 1786, who also
had moved to Winston Co. Al. area in the 1830s. Valentine Jr. was the
brother of Charles and Leannah, in additison to the 3 children noted
above, had a son named Andrew (age 1 in 1850 Winston County, census).
Andrew may have died prior to the 1860 . Lavina, age 8, latter married
