Lee,
Thanks for the quick reply. I am fairly new to this but not that
new to computers, however, my son is the computer specialist by
trade, not me.
I have the program "Family Tree Maker", however, they are not
making an updated version for the Mac. We have a number of Macs in
our home which all belong to my son. Mine and the grandkid's happens
to be an iMac. I should say "ours to use". I am impressed if that
is how it looks in a final printing. I am not sure that I still have
the original disc that came with mine as my son had it for a while
before I got started in this. The records I do have are on Family
Tree Maker. I know some of the features asks for the actual disc to
be in the computer to complete. I started this before I had this
computer and we had a break in and had to begin again. I am
concerned that thus went my disc. From what I have read they are not
making updates for Macintosh produts.
I will look closer to see if this coincides with what I have. I
appreciate all the hard work you have put into this as a legacy to
the families.
I do have a question I have come upon that I didnt have time to
look into until lately. I have notes I took in the Henderson Library
last year. I want to go back to the Henderson County Genealogy
Society to see if I can find out the parents of Winifred Adeline Cox
who was married to William Thomas Cagle Jr. I have that they were
James T. Cox and Winifred MILSTAFF. I know I did see that or I
wouldnt have written it. However, through researching that name
anywhere there doesnt seem to be such a name unless it is of German
or something else origin and then spelled a little differently. I
thought perhaps too that whomever wrote what I took those notes on
meant that perhaps that was her occupation as "mill staff", working
in the mill even though I havent run across that term myself. What
do you think? I will let you know when I do a little more research
on that name. I did speak with the daughter of Zoro Cagle last
summer and she was addament about calling Winifred Adeline Cagle,
her grandmother, Adeline. She showed me a picture in Ruby Cagle's
home of her. Perhaps, I can visit her for more information this time
and not have her think I just happened in. She seemed very friendly.
I would so much like to find Marcus Lafayette's grave this year. I
went where it was supposed to be but it could have been one of the
stones worn with age. I do not know whaere Blue Ridge Cemetery is
but I went to Dana Cemetery and that where Marcus "Fate" as they
mostly called him is suppose to be buried.
Could you tell me how is the correct way to post an obituary if I
have it just as the Newspaper had it printed? I know that I believe
it was the son of William Logan that died this year and I have a copy
of that obituary that I got from Times-News Hendersonville's Newpaper
on their site on the internet. I look there often to find other
relatives and confirmation of sibling, parents, and chldren.
Once again, thanks so much to all you and the others do to make this
a successful place for good information.
