I am not sure where the "C." came from. Does anyone know?
William Cagle (I have him listed as William Cagle, III) died in 1864 as a Union soldier.
He is listed as 48 y.o. in 1850 and as 56 y.o. in 1860 - BUT - in 1840 their are 3 William
Cagle's listed in Sevier County, TN:
Page 175:
William Cagle, 20-30 y.o.
(lists 2 males 5-10 y.o.)
Page 186:
William Cagle, Sr., 80-90 y.o.
William Cagle, Jr., 50-60 y.o.
(Neither of these have any males except themselves listed)
William Cagle (pg 175) is listed in 1850 with Andrew 19 & Henry 17 - therefore William
Cagle, III could have been born between 1810 & 1820 as the 1840 census would indicate.

I don't recall if I've sent this before or if anyone is even interested. I
have the book _Some Early Tax Digests of Georgia_ and it lists the
following:
A List of taxable property for Hancock County, 1812
Capt. Sanford's District
Henry Cagle
202 1/2 acres (3rd quality)
(County) Jones - [not sure why but there are several diff. county names
listed within the Hancock pages]
(Water) No. 189
(Joins) Dist. 11
(Granted) Kilgore
(Tax) $0.56 3/4 cents
