Subject: [CAGLE] My Surgery
Hello everyone,
I have been absent from the list the last couple of months for a good reason. In early
January I devloped double pneumonia. My wife Diana, took me to Audrain Medical Center in
Mexico, Mo. I was examined in the emergency room and then sent to intensive care. By this
time I was so weak and out of it I wasn't sure what was going on. I later learned that
it was a life & death matter and I would have died if my wife hadn't taken
action.
I spent a total of eleven days in intensive care and managed to pull through. After my
recovery my doctor recommended I have a heart catheterization test done. This is where the
inject dye in a main artery in your upper thigh. The tech. is then able to take a CD
recording of your heart function. They discovered that I had three blocked arteries to my
heart. I then was scheduled for heart surgery at UMC Hospital in Columbia, Mo.
Well the surgery went as well as expected and I will have about eight weeks of recovery
and Cardiac Rehab.
I would have informed my list members earlier but things happened fast and they were some
tough times.
This is and always has been one of the best e-mail lists on Rootsweb. It can run by
it's self in need to cases. This in part is due to some of my experienced members that
have been with me from the start.
Through many thoughts and prayers from family, friends, and co-workers it made a tough
ordeal easier to handle. Also if my loyal list members had known I am sure I would have
had your thoughts & prayers.
In time I hope to be back to my old self if not even better. I was asked by doctors &
nurses if I had ever had a heart attack, to which my reply was no. I am not a diabetic, I
am overweight some, I was a former smoker having quit six years ago, and I do have a
sometimes stressful job as a Corrections Officer.
So some of my bad habits caught up with me and the worst part was putting off seeing a
doctor. So in closing list members don't make some of the mistakes I have. I am happy
to be back and look forward to one of my main hobbies of Cagle genealogy.

Earl don't expect too much too soon. It takes a while to overcome open heart
surgery. Besides the bout of pneumonia. It wasn't anything you necessarily did
that brought it on. Stress and the way we eat can help cause it. Getting
older might have something to do with it also. Take Care Bettye Vann Knight

Joan:
You are working on the east side of the Catawba River while I
work
mostly with the Germanic Families on the west side. I don't know enough
about them to help you there but will respond to your comment about
Theobold
vs David, these two and Davault are all used interchangably in some
families
I work with. Some people try to make them individual names and run into
trouble. A good way to find out the actual name is to watch for
signatures.
Good luck,
Lorena
