I can't exactly recall what the 1880 looks like, but John and Emma had a
daughter, Martha. Could she be one of the "Mollie's". Martha went by
"Mattie" throughout life.
John Cagle is deceased by 1900. I think Kate is listed by herself on
that census. His children William H. (Willie of the 1880 census) and
Mattie (Williams by then) are living together in Madison County on the
1900 census.
Here's the 1870:
Monroe Co., Ark., city of Duncan
Harvell, James 35 VA
Mittie 25 TN
Lemmy 5 AR
Walter 6/12 AR
Walker, Grenn 21 Laborer AR
Kagil, John 24 Laborer GA
Also, maybe listed twice in same 1870 census?
Monroe Co., Cache TOWNSHIP
264 ROBINSON, W. C(?) 25 Farmer Tenn.
Levy, ? 51 Butcher Can't make out birthplace
Kagil, John 21 Farm Laborer GA

Damon,
I note there are two daughters named Mollie, one age 7 and the other age
6, listed as children of John Cagle and Kate in the census of
1880 Woodruff Co., AR. It is highly unlikely Emma Dempsey, John's
deceased wife would have named two children Mollie particularly
since both were still living. It is thought one of the Mollies was the
child of Kate before her marriage to John. Can you enlighten us on
that.
And, do you know if John and Kate Cagle had any other children, other
than Sanford, b. 1878.
Also, would you please post a transcribed copy of the 1870 census of
Monroe Co., AR which you mentioned in your e-mail.
Thanks,
Lee Cagle

John Cagle (my g-g grandfather) moved from GA to AR after the Civil
War.
Listed on the 1870 census in Monroe Co. and the 1880 in Woodruff Co.
He
was the nephew of Tabitha (Cagle) Hill, the son of Tabitha's brother
Eli
Cagle. I also have reason to believe that John Cagle may have
stopped
shortly in AL before coming to AR. He would have been first
cousins
with your Eliza Hill.

Hello List,
I would like to ask a question. My great-great grandmother was
Tabitha
Cagle who married Rueben Tucker Hill and there dauther Eliza Hill
married Thomas Green in GA and sometime between 1872 and 1874 they
went
from Birmingham, AL to Boone Co., AR. They had 3 children while
living
there, Sarah "Sallie", Mary Ellender and Lou Emma (my Grandmother).
Sarah b: 1874
Mary b: 1876-----d: 1879 (Boone Co---need proof of where buried)
Lou b: 1880
Were there any Cagle's in that area at the time?
Thanks,
Mollie Charles Pawlik
