Hi Cagle cousins,
I just finished building a web site for the publisher for our forthcoming
Volume 2 of the Transylvania Heritage book. Vol 1 was out in 1995. Since
then much new data has been gathered by researchers.
Many Cagle families were, and are found in Transylvania County. Here is our
recent press release:
"TransylvanCoGenList the Transylvania Genealogy Group is excited to announce
the formal kick-off of the new heritage book for Transylvania County. A new
history of the county is long overdue!
In the ten years that have passed since the first book was published in
1995, a mountain of quality research has greatly expanded knowledge of our
families and the general history of the county. While the first book was
quite good, today we have the ability to create a fabulous work of family
and general county history that greatly eclipses the successes of volume
I -- expanding and even correcting data in the first volume.
The Transylvania Genealogy Group is delighted for the opportunity to lead in
creating this new county history and actively seeks the involvement,
participation, and support of the entire community, including descendants of
Transylvania County families spread across the nation today. Everyone is
strongly encouraged to participate!
On Monday, October 16 the community-wide heritage book informational
meetings begin in downtown Brevard at the Chamber of Commerce building at 35
West Main Street. Our publisher, Don Mills of County Heritage Inc./Walsworth
Publishing, will conduct the meetings.
For convenience, we'll hold the first meeting at 1:00 p.m. and the second at
6:00 p.m., allowing everyone to get in on the meetings that are sure to be
well attended. The meetings will provide everything needed to get started
compiling and writing articles. Printed materials will be given out. All
individuals, families, churches, schools, organizations, institutions, and
even businesses in the county are invited to attend to learn how to
participate.
The Transylvania Genealogy Group has just opened the heritage book web site
where you can download a PDF version of the book project brochure that
includes everything you need to get started, including sample articles, an
order form to buy a book, and a submission form to turn in your article(s).
Please visit the Transylvania Genealogy Group's heritage book web site at:
http://www.nccountyheritage.com/ to learn all about this project. And do
come to the community meetings if you can!
