John G. found these two Littleton Cagles very early on. He never did
explain their relationship.
"George is the son of Johan Dewalt (Theobald) "David" Cagle, David was the
son of Leonhart Kegell from Germany." I have seen this statement made
before, and I am not sure that I agree. I can't prove or disprove. I think
that there was a left handed conclusion that if David was born in 1728,
that he might not be old enough to have a son the age of George who died in
1825. Not sure when he was born?

This occurred to me too. Did you check John Gs census book to see if
they
were listed twice
in it. I don't have the book, but they were definitely listed in Dist 7
and 5. My thought was
perhaps they moved within the County but, to a different district; then
again the children don't
match nor could I find anything on the Minerva, James two of his children.
(Can't remember
the other's name.)

Charles Cagle born Feb. 11, 1780 in North Carolina, (He was the son of
Jacob Cagle 1755) Susannah Cagle was born in 1781 in Montgomery County,
North Carolina in 1781, (and she was the daughter of George Cagle &
Rebecca Cagle). (Geroge and Jacob where either brothers, some say cousins.
George is the son of Johan Dewalt (Theobald) "David" Cagle, David was the

son of Johannan "John Dutchman" Cagle. I have him as Johan Dewalt
(Theobald) "David" Cagle. Jacob Cagle 1766 is the one I have for John
Dutchman's son. Sons, John, Henry, and Littleton Jr. all moved to Bledsoe
County, Tennessee. And sons Linzey, William and Leonard!
C. all moved to Madison County, Alabama. Notes are from John G. Cagle's
book.
