Dear List Members,
As most everyone knows our research goes back to Leonhart Kegel b.c1684 in Germany. We
estimate his birth year from the ship list "Loyal Judith". The list gives his
age as 48, upon his arrival on 25 Sep 1732 in Philadelphia, PA.
I suppose many of you have made attempts at finding his parents. I myself, have not
ventured much into this are of his research.
My idea is for those interested, to post what you may have found out about his parents. We
need to narrow our research or focus it to this means.
So for any of you with information, please post it and share your research. Although,
there are some holes in some of our research on his ancestors forward, most of us have
filled in many holes. For the most part we can list how we descend from him.
I know many of you have ideas on where to research as an example Church Records in
Germany. My goal is to encourage all of you to share your ideas on how we find his
parents.
There is a least a fair chance on finding records concerning his lineage.
If this sounds like a good area of research to you, lets go for it. Who knows just what we
may find in old German records.
Best Regards,
Earl D. Cagle Sr.
Good morning Mr. Cagle,
I was wondering if you, or anyone else in this group, would happen to have any infomation
on a George Henry Cagle who was born in 1834 at Braidies Landing; Decatur Co. TN. in NOv.
1876 he died in Charleston, MO. He was married to Dysa Caroline Curtis. After George
died Dysa married Mitchel A.C. Canter (my great-grandfather). There are stories that they
had a child together before one or the other left each other. I have been intrigued by
this story and also Dysa....Dysa and George had several (6) children before he died.
Can you or anyone else in the Cagle group share any information on George Henry and Dysa
Calge?
Thank you so much for your time,
I am glad this group is active again....I love reading the stories
