Regarding publishing names of the living. Most researchers, in their published works, do
not give the name of a living person. As one that has been the victim of identity theft
(wife also), this is a good practice to follow and I endorse it wholeheartedly. Our
identity is scattered everywhere under the sun, no need to add to the proliferation.
Generally, a researcher will give you information you are seeking if you contact them
direct in regards to a living person. I recently had occasion to do just that in an
effort to find a living female descendant of an MIA casualty for DNA purposes. The person
I contacted was very obliging, while I remained on the land line he used his cell phone to
call an acquaintance and got the name and location of the party I was seeking, took less
than five minutes. We owe to the living to give them whatever respect and protection we
can afford. Best wishes, Earl L.Cagle, Sr.
