Message from Jim:
I would think that he's almost certainly a descendant of Leonhart Kegel, as
are the vast majority of Cagles in the U.S.
Maybe someone off the list who's a Cagle and a country music fan could write
him and ask him who his Cagle grandparents were and tell him why they'd like
to know. If we find that out, I'm sure we can connect him to the Cagle
family tree we all share.

Jim,
I know more than my grandparents - see if you can help me connect. My earliest proven
Cagle ancestor is Leonard Cagle of NC (1798-1866). He married Mary Osborne and lived
Buncombe/Henderson/Transylvania Counties (county lines changed with increase in
population). I have solid info on his descendants but have never found his parents or how
he connects to the other Cagles in that area or even who his siblings may have been.
Lots of speculation floats around but no proof that I can find.
