List,
I wrote an email to Mrs. Shepard on the subject of Mary Adeline Cagle. After several
failed attempts, I have decided it just won't go through. Sad times. The good news is
that from her information I confirmed it and expanded on it with several census records
and have one more Cagle ancestor with a few more sources than before. Thanks for the help
everyone!

Following is a message I received from Carol Shepard a year or so ago.
Her
grandmother was Mary Adeline Cagle that we have been discussing for a few
days. For those of you who are following this line, this should be
helpful.

Hi Mr. Cagle:
My Grandmother was a CAGLE, Mary Adeline. Had two brothers, George and
Will.
Great Grandfather was John Cagle. They came from TN, not sure what
part.
George married a lady named LUDIE and had two children Johnny (oldest)
and Mable, they lived in between Morehouse & Poplar Bluff, MO., New
Madrid Co.
George's brother Will married a lady named Minnie and they had five
children:
Tom (oldest), Myrtle, Pearl, Bill and Lola May, lived in Parma, MO., New
Madrid Co.
My grandmother, Mary Adeline was born around 1874 and died Oct. 29 or 31
1906, she is buried in Brazziele Cemetary three miles south of Sikeston,
MO., New Madrid Co. Mary married
James Anderson Westerman, born 10/25/1850 TN, died 8/18/1928, buried in
Union Cemetary, Augusta, AR., Woodruff Co.
Mary and James had (7) children: 1. John Anderson, Married Fannie
Sanders. 2. Mary Edna, married a Matthews. 3. Charley Westerman. 4.
Minnie, married twice, second husband a Phillips. 5. Zetta. 6. Eliza
Jane, (my mother) married James Dewey Golden. 7. Laurie, died at 18
weeks old.
