Earl, I will claim this one. Even though the child is not listed in my information, I
know without a doubt he is the son of my great uncle Martin Cagle, brother to my
grandfather, Freeman Taylor Cagle. Martin and his brother, Dr. William Sherman Cagle (my
North Georgia ancestors were Union sympathizers) were in medical practice in Sugar Valley,
Gordon County, Georgia. The newspaper article was no doubt printed in Calhoun, county
seat of Gordon County, Georgia. I will add this information to my records. Martin was
killed by a train in 1910.
This Cagle line from Leonhardt is Henry, Peter, Martin, John and the subject Martin.
Thanks again for this needed tidbit. Best wishes, Earl L. Cagle, Sr.

Dear List Members,
While looking at old newspaper records I found this. Oscar Cagle, son of Dr. Martin Cagle
died 6-6-1899
and was buried 6-8-1899 age two years. Calhoun County, Georgia.
If this is your family this record may be of some help.

Earl,
Nice to see that the information helped you. My g-grandparents Thomas W. & Mary E.
Cagle, had a son Lee Cagle who was one year old or less.
So far I haven't found an obituary for him. He died I believe in 1879 Oregon County,
Missouri.
Many folks have young children that die in their ancestry. In many cases you never find
any records on them. Especially in deaths before 1900.
Take Care,
Earl D. Cagle Sr.
