Waynesville - Mathew Philip Cagle, Sr., 55, of Frazier Street, died Monday,
December 22, 2008 at his residence.
A native of Jackson County, he was son of Inez Cagle Ramsey of Whittier and
the late Lucius Collins Cagle. He was preceded in death by three brothers,
Johnny Ray, Mark and Luke Cagle and special parents, Kance and Lucy McElroy.
He was a former employee of Cline-Bradley, Lea Industries, and Haywood
Builders Supply.
He was a lifetime sportsman and a member of the Wildlife Association.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member
of Barberville Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 30 years, Brenda
Gaddis Cagle; one son, Mathew Phillip Cagle, Jr. of the home; one daughter,
Jessica Michelle Cagle of Waynesville; one sister, Ann Rector, and her
husband, Carroll, of Macon, GA; two brothers, Horace Cagle of Bryson City
and James Ramsey and his wife, Sherry of Whittier; three grandchildren,
Lila Grace Cagle, Hayden Roland, and Lucas Roberts all of Waynesville.
