I have the original too and went back with magnify glass and I see what you mean about dau
and dau-in-law.
So I have a total of 8 boys and 3 girls for Henry and wife Caterena. All mentioned in
will.
This was my 2nd DNA hit on Henry's line. First was to son William Columbus and now to
daughter Caterena. I am sure I have others but there are hundreds of them to go through
and I am not doing it in any order.

Here is the expert opinion
I have Henry's will and all of Mr John G cagle journals
Notes for Henrich Kegel (Henry Cagle) SR:
If you look at the actual Henry Cagle will is says, "Daughter In=" (end of
line) with the next line beginning, "na Caterana Cockman" or something
similar to that. There is a black ink mark over the start of the next line
partially covering the "na". This is not the first time I have seen names
split at the end of a line in old documents. I worked for about 10 years in
a Historian's Office preparing old court documents for microfilming by the
state archives and names split at the end of lines was not totally uncommon.
The transcriber assumed it was "daughter-in-law". In the actual document
there is no line between daughter and in. Often when a name was split they
used "=" instead of a single line of "-". This is not completely true
however for this will because in a later line daughter is split as
"daugh=ter". It does not appear to be "Daughter-In-Law" in the actual
will
to me. Always look at the original document if you can because transcribers
can and do make mistakes.

I am learning a lot through my Ancestry DNA matches. They have confirmed a
lot of history and added some also. For example, I had never heard of Inna
Caterana Cagle being daughter of Henry Henrich Cagle and wife Katherine
Seitz before. Then I started looking at trees and a lot of them have her
listed. Anyways the connection fits at 7th cousin.
I know Henry's will lists a lot of people such as William, Henry, Christian,
John, Jacob, Mary, Eliza, Peter, George, Martin, wife Caterana and one I am
still trying to figure out "Daughter-in-law Caterena Cockman. That means a
son of his was married to a Caterena and I do not know who that is.
I had 8 boys and 2 girls listed for Henry and wife Caterana before, but now
with Inna that makes it 8 boys and 3 girls.
Anyone know anything more on this family?
Robie & List,
I have it opposite to what you have as to Caterena Cagle. She was a daughter
of Henry Cagle d.1802 NC.
Does it state daughter in law in his will or daughter. I don't have his will
handy at this time.
Caterena Cagle b. abt 1760, married Joseph Cockman b. abt. 1745.
They are enumerated in the 1790 census next to each other. Joseph Cockman is
showing 1 1 3
Henry Cagle 3 4 4. By the number of people in his and wife Caterana Seitz
Cagle's listing i would say this is the elder Henry Cagle.
As to our other list members please check my information against what you
have. There is also a fair chance that a son of old Henry, married a Cockman
daughter.
Some of what i have i think came from John G. Cagle's work.Best Regards,
Earl D. Cagle Sr.
