Hello Bettye,
I will do my best to provide you a bit of a bio, but I must inform you I'm not very
accomplished at my own bio. Maybe that's why I like to write about others! I've
always found it hard to speak about myself and just abhored writing bios for my credits in
plays and operas, but I shall try.
I am currently 26, never married, and about to graduate with a Master's degree in
Voice Performance. My specific performing interest is opera but it's a hobby for me
because I want a stable life in a smaller city. My career is in financial services and I
teach private lessons during the theatrical season to students who desire roles.
My interest in genealogy began when I was seven. I was raised every four months by my
great-grandmother Cagle while my parents and grandparents ran tax offices . She was born
in 1909 and I LOVED her stories! I wrote some of them down and when she passed away, I
knew that no one else would preserve our Cagle history and I found tons of obituaries that
she had kept for years so I joined this list and
ancestry.com. Members here helped me find
my missing John Cagle as described below and that ultimately led to a very quick trail
back to Leonhart Kegel.
My genealogy, and I do hope I've been thorough is below:
First Generation through My Generation
1. Leonhart Kegel
2. David Johan Theobald Cagle/Kegel
3. Henry Cagle and Elizabeth Waggoner
4. Henry Cagle, Jr. and Rebecca?
5. George Cagle and Margaret Malinda Matthews
6. John C. Cagle and Sarah ?? (Fannin County, TX to New Madrid, MO)
7. William James Cagle and Minnie May Jordan
8. Luther Thomas Cagle and Vera Beatrice Moore
9. L. Cagle and Joyce Manning
10. R. Allen and K. Cagle
11. Micah Allen
Interestingly enough, Henry Cagle, Jr. died in 1857 in New Madrid County, Missouri (the
Missouri Bootheel) and it wasn't until 1880 that George and John, Henry Jr.'s son
and grandson, were found in Fannin County, TX census. By the 1900 census, John and his
children had moved back to New Madrid County and the family has stayed in that same area
to this day. They were mostly farmers and John was at one time a Railroad worker.
Similarly, my Allen side also lived in the Missouri Bootheel since about 1880 and the
family stayed in the area as well. I guess there's something we like about the area!
My Allens have been traced all the way back to Ulster County, Ireland and the Cagle's
back to Germany and I am a redhead so you can just imagine the reputation of being a
redhead with that type of genealogy. I find it thrilling and theatrical. Thank you for
your inquiry Bettye and I do hope that I have answered it, albeit I am long-winded so my
apologies.

Micah,we appreciate your willingness to be the administrator of the Cagle
Line. The information I have received from the list has helped greatly. I
am literate but semi or greatly computer illiterate. So mistakes I make. I
have one list manager that won't accept post unless in Genealogy jargon like
uniform dates 27 July 2009 and city, county state. and no claims born in a
place if it was not in existence at the date stated. for instance York
County, SC did not exist in the early 1700 of the State .
Micah could we have some info about yourself and your lineage. Bettye Vann
