PLEASE BE ADVISED: I can no longer send out newly composed messages to this list except
through replying to one of your messages because anti-spam SORBS (subscribed to by Google
who took over my beloved Yahoo email program) has ruled my IP address as a spammer. As
most of you know I hate censorship, so I am incensed right now and someone will most
likely get a piece of my mind tomorrow. Beyond that, read the following invitation in the
paragraphs below and well, I hope this sends to the list.
One of my favorite parts of genealogy is story-telling. In honor of labor day, I invite
you as a Cagle descendant to submit a story about one or two of your ancestors related to
the occupation they perfomed or if living and still working, still performing.
Maybe someone in your Cagle line had an interesting job, like being a milkman (oops, gave
mine away) or there was a politician in the family or maybe you were just told a funny
story about a Cagle relative trying to perform his/her job. I ask you only to keep it to
the facts or at least keep it to how the story was told to you. Some of the best
genealogical information I received in my quests were stories and those stories are the
details that stick with me. I can forget a date, but I'll never forget a story.
This should be fun and interesting to read for the next few weeks and I'm giving you
plenty of time to think of a good one to share with us. Submit the story whenever you are
ready and I look forward to reading these!

Donna,
Please don't lurk. You haven't caused a stir. In fact, I thought you ask
some very good questions.

<<In November 2002, I talked to John G. Cagle on the telephone and inquired
about the cost of a copy of The Cagle Family in the South to 1850. >>
I have a copy of Jimmy B. Cagle's _Cagle Families in the Southern States_.
Is this a different book?
<<I don't believe John G Cagle is going to be to thrilled about someone
coping his works for mass distribution. His work is copy righted.>>
I didn't intend to do this without his permission and as I said, I could
find no copyright on any of the materials that I have.
<<I know he has some copies of his works still available, and when he runs
out he reorders when he has the minimum orders required by his publisher for
press run..>>
As several people have stated, they would love to purchase these books but
when payment is sent and cashed but no book delivered - several times -
people tend to be a little wary of trying again.
<<There is a number of members of the list who have the complete works of
John. Most are willing to help you or have the information you need.
Just ask.>>
I don't have specific questions. I just wanted to have a complete set for
future reference. Sorry to have caused a stir. I'll go back to lurking now.
Donna
