I won't voice an opinion on closing down the list as I'm closing down my
genealogy work and getting rid of stuff to downsize from three levels down
to one - I have many genealogy books I've bought over the years but one that
might interest someone on this list is Jimmy G. Cagle's "Cagle Families In
The Southern States - Descendants of Leonhard Cagle ca 1684." Don't
remember what a paid for it - make me an offer. Martha

For my part, I sure would miss the Cagle List if it no longer existed. From
this list I have met some wonderful cousins. I have had the great privilege
of meeting Cliff and Ellen Rogers and Bill and Marge Scruggs. Cliff and
Ellen at that time lived in Texas, and Bill and Marge Scruggs lived in
California. Both have met me and my family, and we shared some wonderful
times and family histories. I'm sad that the List isn't as active as it once
was, but it gave me a great advantage in finding my ancestors. Many people a
lot smarter than I am, did so much of the original research in our Cagle
lines. I'm so very thankful that the List existed, and gave me a lot of
information that I wouldn't have had otherwise. I would certainly want the
List to stay active. Earl, if it's not too much to ask, I would be all for
the Cagle List to continue. I appreciate you and all you do and all the work
you have done for the Cagle List. I would also like to thank everyone that
has taken their tim!
e helping me find my Cagles.

Hello List Members,
To those of you who still bother to read the Cagle list posts I have this.
Our list was started by me in 1998 so
we have been around for seventeen years.
However, the list has become redundant. No one but a very few seem
interested anymore. When our list started there
were some others that came along soon after. I joined the Gunter, Stagner,
Shaw, Matney and a couple more I can't remember.
Well all of these lists have disbanded due to a simple lack of interest. I
can say that our list was one of the most popular at
it's highest point.
My administrator page for the list shows something like fifty three
members. So to be democratic we should vote to keep the
list going or disband it.
There are some months recently that had no messages posted. And others
whith maybe three to ten postings.
Let me know what you think please. If I don't receive enough response I
will contact Rootsweb about disbanding the list.

Eddie,
Thank you for all your kind words. So far the vote has been to keep the list
going.
Eddie, why don't you re post what you know about Nancy Cagle Cox.
There may be someone who has the information you need. Don't give up on her
ancestry, we all have had our brick walls.
Take Care,
Earl D. Cagle Sr.

Earl and list,
I joined this list many years
ago hoping to find the link between my Cagle
gang and the larger Cagle family in America.?
I have had a lot of help
through the years
and I have provided help when I could.? This has been
and
still is a great group of folks but to
date I still don't have a solid
traceable connection to my Nancy Cagle Cox from
the Lionhart Cagle family
and I have begun
to doubt that I ever will, just too much missing info.
However this has been a good ride over the
years but I know it has been a
real effort
to maintain and keep going.? Hats off to Earl and the
others who
have kept this group up and
running.???I will hate to see it end but I
also
understand that sometimes the rewards
no longer justify the efforts.? So I
say,
do what is best for you Earl and thanks for the years of
help and
knowledge you gave us.
Best Regards,
Eddie Cox
