Randall,
Happy to see your still on our list. Yes, we all have learned valuable information on our
Cagle's, and allied families.
There has been so many great people on our list that share their data.
As long as there are a few people still interested, then I will stay with our list.
I also hope to visit my family buried in Lanes Chapel Cemetery in Clarksville Red River
County, Texas.
Best Wishes,
Earl

I'm Randall Cagle and
I check the Cagle List out whenever there is something on
it. It would be a great loss if we didn't have the
list. Have found many wonderful relatives on the list.
Where I live in Sequatchie county Tennessee, it was through
this list that I found out that a lot of my ancestors went
to Texas in the 1890's and early 1900's. My
gggrandfather, James Cagle is buried in Warren county,
Tennessee, but his wife Hortensia left Tennessee about 1905
and went to Texas with a son and is buried in Navarro county
Texas. Some daybI hope to visit her burial place.

Subject: [CAGLE] Mary Elvira Cagle
Dear List,
For those of you still on the, Cagle list
some know of my problem. My
g-grandmother Mary Elvira Cagle, has always been a bit of a
mystery.
My Aunt Erma Cagle Brewer, was
the person reporting
information on her
father Marquis DeLafayette Cagle Sr.,
death certificate.
She gave the name of
her grandfather as T W Cagle, and her
grandmother Mary
Patton.
Tom Cagle, a
list member and me share the same g-g-g-granfather Charles
Cagle Sr. His g.g.grandfather was
Thomas Cagle, married to
Rachel Chessor.
My g-g-grandfather was of course Thomas
brother, Charles Jacob
Cagle. His
wife
was Mary Patton.
My Aunt Erma, was a
young woman of about 30 at the time of her
fathers
death. Why she would list her
grandmother's name as Mary
Patton is a
mystery to me.
On her
and her husband Thomas W. Cagle's, marriage certificate
her name is
given as Mary Cagle. They
were married on 7-24-1877 in Oregon
Co; MO.
I have never known her maiden name to be
anything other than
Cagle. They
last
appeared together in the 1900 Census in Mississippi Co;
MO.
She was shown being born in
Arkansas in August 1860. In the
1910 census her
husband T W Cagle, was listed as a widow
living with their
daughter,
Ida Mae
Cagle.
T.W Cagle's brother, William
M. Cagle had settled in Red
River County, Texas
in the late 1880's. Most of his and
his wife Louisa Cagle
Risenhoover,
family
died and are buried there.
I searched high and low for Mary, for many
years. Then a few years ago I
found
her death record in Red River County, Texas. She had
died on
7-25-1905
> in
Peters Prairie Red River County, Texas.
Some day I hope to find an obituary for her there in Red
River County.
My belief is that Thomas
William Cagle, possibly married a
first cousin. If
not then a second cousin. Information on
Mary Elvira (Alvira)
Cagle, is very
scarce.
If she came from a Cagle
family, then I am at a lost as to
which one. Also
at a loss if her maiden name wasn't
Cagle, then what was
it?
On another
note there has been no activity on the Cagle list.
If those
of
you on the list are no longer
interested, then maybe we should
end the list.
If any of you read this then i would
appreciate your
thoughts.
Regards,
Earl D.CagleSr.
